L400 foglights & hitch

Post by Adam »

Has anyone purchased a hitch for a L400 locally? My guess is that it has to be custom built. Have you had yours built yet Jesse? I'd like to get one ASAP for my van that is arriving on the 22nd. I need to get back into the swing of collecting WVO again before my partners get tired of doing all the work.

I'm also trying to source some OEM fog lights (yellow or clear) for the van. Any leads? I stripped the lights of my L300, but I'm not sure how they'll look on a L400.

Mardy had some l400 hitches built similar to e&h. They look good. Not sure how much. Bolt on so it's an easy install.

Fog lights ...
I had to fab up some brackets to get mine to fit. I've seen four different brackets on l400's so far. Will depend which one you get.

mardy quoted me $400 a few months ago for a hitch when I first put my deposit down. At that time I hadn't thought about a road trip to Ont, so I didn't get one, but now things change and a trip across country may be in order...we'll see. Whether Mardy still has any is up to Mardy. ;-) cheers

Oh, I like the spare tire swing mount option. I wonder how much more that would set me back with E&H:

Hi,

E & H Hitch in Burnaby is happy to do L400's. Rick Schmidt there is the Delica Expert, and LOVES working on the Delica. He has done several L400's, says it is no more difficult than the L300's. He will do other welding also, is an excellent welder, works only with steel (not aluminum).

there actually is an over the counter class 3 hitch available for the L400, the downside is its on my first L400 and that is not here right now or I would post the part number. but the L400 is much more suited to heavy pulling than the 300 was/is.

Perfect, do you remember how much it was? It has gotta be less than getting one custom built. Do you know where you bought it from?

It's been a while for this thread...

Has anyone found out the availability of the over the counter, bolt-on hitch? Or whether having one custom made would cost much more?

I ended up getting mine built by E&H out of Burnaby. The cost was $450 for a LWB L400.
