Another Deli in Ottawa

Post by HevvyDee »

Hello All;

First of all, great job on this website folks and thanks very much to all who have posted great advice and information, it was a huge amount of help in deciding to take the plunge and buy our first Delica.
My Wife (TeleTanja on this forum) and I picked up our green and grey L400 LWB from in Vancouver on October 16th. We spent the next 8 days driving back to Ottawa. Stopped off to visit friends along the way and had a great trip. The weather cooperated for the most part, which was lucky as we all know weather this time of year can be unpredictable. OK, we did spend the night on a pullout outside of Marathon waiting for the snow to let up a bit; maybe we should have taken the northern route.
The Deli ran and handled great. We bought it sight unseen from Mardy at Amazing Auto Imports and were a bit nervous, but he did a fantastic job prepping the vehicle for us. He said he wanted to make absolutely sure nothing would go wrong with it on the long drive home. However, I get the feeling all customers get the same great service.
So, If you are thinking about dealing with Mardy I would highly recommend him.
Sorry I have no pics to post yet, will do so when I figure out how.

I know there are a few other Deli's in Ottawa; I have seen one L300 and another green/grey L400.

Cheers for now

Excellent to have another Deli in Ontario. My wife and I just got our van two months ago and our first big trip was to Ottawa. It was great parking in the MEC parking lot and having someone come over and ask about our van. We went for a trip up to Champlain Lookout with friends.

If you are over Bracebridge way let me know.

Hey Michael;

Funny.....
A while back we saw a white l300 on the Ottawa River Parkway, it could have been you I guess.
Our trip back was originally going to take us across Manitoulin to Tobermory then up through Bracebridge and through Algonquin Park back to Ottawa; then I discovered the Manitoulin ferry stops mid October so we ended up staying on highway 17 all the way home.
Any issues getting your Deli safety checked and registered in Ontario?

Cheers,
Duncan
