I really like the idea with the nets. It's a lot of storage for cloth and other lighter stuff.

Well done!

Hi guys, Got a few updates over the wknd. After removing my headliner I insulated the roof with a low density foam used for sub-floor so it doesn't absorb moisture. I still need to add a second layer before calling it a finished product but so far so good (pictures soon). A big change was lifting the truck by 3-4" by installing custom made DropBox (thanks Jesse!), new HD Dubinson coils and longer Procomp shocks. I couldn't bare the coils teal color nor the white shocks so I painted everything my favorite color; old Vespa green! Hard not to get carried away with painting more underneath... Truck rides and looks great, what a change! Should keep me busy for the next 10 yrs! Cheers Mr. D

Hey David!

The rig is looking great! Nice flex! Looks like you will be unstoppable now.

Your pics look like they are above Port Melon near Rainy River... is this correct? Makes me miss the coast a lot. There's some great trails on the Sunshine Coast... we explore them as often as we can when we are there at our cabin. I have a beef with a rock face out in Halfmoon Bay that I will be attempting to settle next time we are back with the Deli. :-D

Cheers!
Ian

Those drop boxes turned out great! Sorry I didn't get back to you on the welding, my work got crazy out of hand lately. Not a problem anymore, the company went out of business on Thursday (meh, more time to work on my van).

It's been a very long time since I updated my post or had time to play on my truck but here's a few new welcome additions that will surely come handy!

Awning is a ARB that also comes with a bug net, nice simple set up. The net opens on the side and against the back door to give access to the truck. We also managed with Jesse to finish my front bullbar although I still need to give it a couple more paint coats, probably black as my Vespa green turned out kinda redneck! Once that's done I'll be ready to mount the winch and the triple Lightforce HID lights.

Aside from that we are slowly reconfiguring a new diesel tank to be mounted under the truck instead of on the roof rack. Tank is ready, just need to be fitted. My air tank will have to be relocated, probably inside the truck. I found a different style of tank, smaller in diameter but longer and FREE! Got a new wooden steering wheel ready and I started installing my water-injection as well, pump found it's place, just need to do all the plumbing. I also got all my parts for my custom snorkel, just need to figure out and build the new airbox. So far so good!

Cheers,
Mr. D

It was on Ouillet Creek FSR just outside the ferry landing on Sunshine Coast. Not sure where's Port Melon, cool name though! Yes, very nice place out there.

Now that the forum seems to be back to normal (mostly) with all the vendors set aside from the people who just want to share the fun of our great JDM I guess it's time posting some of my recent mods... there's been a few! (and a few good trips!)

REVERSE LED LIGHT:
Not satisfied with my previously installed Backup LED light I yanked it all out and started from scratch. It used to be behind the glass and the beam pattern ended up hitting my ladder and spare.

Way better now! I'm still using a flood pattern LED hooked onto a 3 way switch allowing me 3 options:
-to have the light come when the reverse gear is engaged,
-to turn off the light all together,
-to give a nasty wake up call to the idiots tailgating me. (or use it remotely when truck is not running, great for campsite, work...)

I mounted the light onto the spare mount and brought the wiring through a small hole I drilled into the panel. Ran the wire through a rubber grommet filling the new hole and fished the wire through the existing connector between the door and the actual truck. Then I simply spliced it with the existing brake harness and ran it to a remote 3 way switch at the front. The spare can be removed without any issue and now I can light up the back of my truck like a Jail yard! Love it! I'll try to take a picture of it at night, it's pretty neat!
