dang looks like we should shoot for next saturday if anyone is interested. it is still raining very hard. Just talked to mardy and he had a great idea the parkaid at park royal in the back is very tall even those of us with high roofs can go in. so we could make it next saturday rain or shine. not raining meet at ambelside, rain park royal parkaid . give me a call and let me know what people think

Re: North shore meet
Yeah that is my way to work lately. In that direction you know you would go faster on the upper road right?
I like taking that bridge because I get to stop at JJ Bean :)

Re: North shore meet
My plans have changed slightly -- I'll be going to the aquarium with my daughter and her cousin -- will be returning to North Vancouver around 2:30-3:00ish -- will swing by Ambleside on the way back, and see if anyone is around. My cell # is 604-910-5457.
Cheers!

Re: North shore meet
Likewise - rainy day means kids have less options. Running some errands, then taking the other JR (as in junior) to the West Van Pool - will swing by Ambleside...rain just stopped!
Good thought Mardy for rain or shine option next week - I always park behind Park Royal be Sport Check and across from the dog walk access to Ambleside - very high parkade is NP for deli's.

Hi ,
Total turnout - 2
Joe from Steveston and me.
We waited around Ambleside until about 1:30 then bugged. No one was at the Bear so I went home.

Re: North shore meet
Just got back from aquarium a few minutes ago -- popped by Ambleside, but didn't see any Delicas (given the weather I wasn't expecting to). Hopefully next weekend will bring finer weather.

Re: North shore meet
I would normally have gone rain or shine, but I worked until 445 this morning and when I got up at noon and checked it out no one seemed very interested on here so I decided to take take the extra sleep and deal with it when I could think properly.
Hope to see you guys next weekend, although i'll be working late again i'll suffer through and come by for sure.

Re: North shore meet
Howdy Gang,
If the time and place aren't necessarily fixed, I would be inclined to suggest that you consider someplace other than Ambleside, or if you really want to meet at Ambleside, be sure that you do not have any open liquor at all. West Van has their own police force and a strict no liquor policy. I know some of the cops there, (ask me how) and they really mean it. And no dogs outside your car. Not even on a leash tied to your car. You may have heard that West Van has relaxed enforcement at Ambleside but it doesn't mean dogs or liquor are allowed. It just means that by-law boy won't automatically hand out the $165.00 fine right away, he might give you a warning first, maybe. There is a dog park area on the Squamish Band land at the east end of the park and sometimes you can get there through Ambleside but not always and you have to sneak because there are NO DOGS ALLOWED in Ambleside. No loud music either unless its classical and Zeppelin doesn't count.
I think if I wanted to meet in a park type setting, I would probably choose Cates park because it has a LOT of parking, isn't very busy and a bunch of us wouldn't get anyone's nose out of joint. We could all easily park at the boat ramp parking lot. Its easy to find and I would imagine it would be pretty much vacant this time of year. I don't suppose I really know that but everyone I know with a boat already has it out of the water. There's plenty of parking so we could all get parked together. Its patrolled by the RCMP, a fairly reasonable bunch and mostly too understaffed to fiddle with us.
Just a thought.
