Fuel filter, cleaned bus bar, fixed the broken hold down for the batteries.
In the process I broke the hose barb off the top of the radiator (the one that goes to the overflow bottle). Drilled and tapped for 1/8 NPT, installed new barb, waiting to see if pipe thread/teflon tape/JB weld combo will hold pressure/temperature.

Dismantled the wiper spray hosing. Unplugged the gick from on of the little valves, felt very proud of myself.
That was until I discovered that it isn't fixed. Squirts about 2 inches, which I suppose is still and improvement from the drizzle.
I did manage to fix the parking brake however. So not a total wasted session in the rain.

Found inspiration from another green (maybe it was blue) on grey van I saw on Saturday. They had painted their intercooler intake on the hood to match the grey. I had been meaning to do this since I bought the van last year. Found a pretty good match metallic paint and....

It actually matches better than this angle looks.

Then I got crazy and replaced the trim around my wheels flares. One of the old rubber ones had actually blown off on the highway a couple of weeks ago...well about 4 inches had blown off then I stopped and removed it. I used door edge trim that has a little glue inside. Removed the flares and used a hair dryer to mold the edge trim. Worked great!

I really want to paint my rims...any thoughts on that. Seems the old internet has all kinds of successful stories of it. Prep, prep, prep and a little more prep seems to be the key to a good outcome.

For painting alloys... Sand, clean, spray primer, paint. I used red rust-check paint and mat black rim specific paint. They have been great, the only chips are from having the wheels balanced. I did the whipsaw trail without a scratch (on the rims at least). Total cost was $7.

Thanks nxski. That is kind of what I have been seeing. I also saw the rim specific paint, which is what got me looking more seriously into doing it.
Did you sand off all of the clear coat on the rims? I assume there is some level of clear coat. I guess you just need to get them scuffed up enough to accept the primer.

Brand? Colour? Source? You're not the only one with peeling paint on an intercooler inlet you know...

And in an effort to move forward and create a reciprocal exchange of mutual benefit...
I've done all kinds of wheel painting. My favorite outcome has been using Metalcast Ground Coat. It's basically silver sparkles, but it replicates cast aluminium pretty well.
Metalcast on left, polished AL on right:

My rims were very worn so it was more a question of removing dirt first than removing the clearcoat. I sanded them until there were scratch marks everywhere though.

Thanks! I have some other changes coming in the next few months too.

I actually used for better or worse a wheel paint. It was the best match I could find at Lordco, which was my only stop for paint. I figured if for some reason it really didn't work on the plastic I would just sand it off and try and different type of paint.

Worked out well. No shaking. Swivel bearing is tight.
