Yeah I read that and I really hope that my new ones last for a while now...fingers crossed...

In my experience the seizing caliper pistons happen because we buy vehicles that were not driven in Japan for a long time. Sometimes they sit for a year or two without a drive. So the piston just sits in one place and corrodes. So when I rebuilt my calipers all the pistons had corrosion/gunk built up at the seals. All I did is sand off the corrosion with 4000 grit sand paper and reassemble. Have been driving without any seizing for 6 months now. With new calipers you should be fine for a long time.

If you had severe overheating wheels, I would make sure that when they changed the caliper the mechs also rebuilt the bearings. That kind of heat can really degrade wheel bearing grease and cause your bearings to fail fast. Make sure this got/gets done. No need for new bearings, just clean and re-grease.

I repacked the bearings with grease while I had them out, and the wheel/disc/hub never got extremely hot beforehand, so I assumed they were fine with a bit more new grease.

I am hesitating about whether the brakes are working 100% again...

How hot is normal for the discs to get after normal driving? I realize it will get hot from the friction between the pad and disc when stopping, but I just want to see how hot other peoples' discs get?

Can you touch your finger on the front disc and hold it there?

If you take a couple trips around the block at slow speed and try to not use your brakes much, when you get back home you should be able to touch your rotors. They'll might be warm, but not scalding hot.
