You have to see if there is any sign of water leak on the firewall. If there is not, then it ain't the qurter panel. If it is middle of the carpet on the foot step, most likely it is your door seal. Many people take apart the quarter panel and re seal windshield for nothing. You need to detec the problem first. Hope it helps.

Sorry I'm a little late getting to this post. I work in a glass shop in Duncan and have already change a windshield for some people in lake cowichan. Most all rubber gasket windshield are put in with no sealant in the gaskets. they are cleaned and and some times a solution to make them tacky again. Becuase that the way the come from the factory thats the way they should go back. On the delica's the are also drain holes at the bottom for the water to get in and out if it does. But for the most put you put them back like this and its 50/50 shot that it doesn't leak so you have to seal them up either when the windshield out is the easy way, or doing it after making sure its clean and you get the nosel all the way in and without any gaps. Do a simple water test as well with the garden hose start low on one side and then do the other side leave in there for a while and slowly start moving up the van section by section if your low and waters coming in its not the windshield or your gutters and if you try sides it could be the doors. I would be happy to help the boss is in Mexico until wednesday the 5th and this week friday afternoon is not so busy and sat I'm here until 1 and so far i have nothing from 11:00 until 1. Also if your sealing the windshield keep silcone away don't put silcone on it flakes you can't get anything to stick to it again and its a glass guys nightmare

Okay, so I think I finally licked this one. After reading some other threads, I discovered the stress fractures at the top of the door pillars. Gooped them with some 'sikaflex' (I think it's called), and so far, no more wet carpets.
My question to the more knowledgeable maintainers: can those stress fractures be welded up?

Hi, the best way if you have time is to do re-seal all the windshield, but not all need to do the windshield seal.
as thru my experience i always do seal the front panel inner & outer panel joint using glass poly-urethane glue.
then if its still leaking then do the window for a complete windshield seal.
its just the front panel is always the first one that crack the joint as for oldness & the weather condition in japan, very hot & then cold with rain.
Cheers;
