Passing inspection with tires not DOT marked fully depends on where you go. There are guys who will pass it with only the load rating, wheras others need the DOT stamp. Don't be afraid to ask them. Then there is no surprises for ya.
Also - if all else fails - just borrow a set of rims with tires off a buddys delica or any older toyota. The rims will bolt right on. Go to inspection and then switch them back. I'm not a dihonest guy - but tires are tires. Once you pass just run with the japanese rubber. Its all good. :D
hope it works out for ya

Hopefully they are still good quality tires (ie. life and tread of the tire).
If not, then read here :

Saw you on Bridgeport today. Very clean Delica despite the weather. Just like it looks in the photo. Lots of different lights on the front. Very cool....

The only thing I can say is you badly need front tints to match the back....

I think it's against the law to have front tinted windows here. Not too sure.
It lets in natural light which is good in the winter.

Tinting the front side windows, or the windshield is illegal in every jurisdiction in Canada.

L300 and L400 are both outdated! Check out my new (s) L500! Don't even need snorkel!

Jesse, tell us more about those rims - was $70/piece a deal for you, or can any muck off the street get it? Also, what size do they come in... 15" and to fit a 4Runner perhaps? ;)

I got a good deal on them at the time. They are now twice the price.
They are 15x8 with 3.65 " backspacing.
They would fit a 4runner but just like with the Delica's some trimming may be required.

Thanks Jesse, even at $140/wheel, that's not too bad. $70 is a damn good deal though!
Trimming... that comes with the territory, right?
Winter is coming, almost time to think about changing tires...
Nice looking van btw, I'm looking forward to watching how this one transforms.

It will transform to a new owner. We're selling it very soon.
It's too long for our parking area. We need a shorty.

If you want to sell the wheels & tires, let me know ;)
I can offer some ~30 - 31" tires in good condition + grey steel rims as a trade too - no necessity, just putting it out there!

Please let me know when you are ready to part with your L400, what you want for it with other detail. Would you consider taking a 2001 Tracker 4 dr 5 spd as part trade? Thanks

I'm quite certain that when he says shorty he means a short wheel base L400, but hey, it never hurts to ask right?
