Here's a Chamonix in New West for $8,200.

Would probably need work done to it but then it's work that 'you' know will have done to it.

If you'd like I can check it out with you. Just shoot me a PM.

Hey thanks,
I talked to him and he sent me some more pics. Not bad, pretty trashed interior. If I can get over to the mainland I'll take you up on that. This snow is making things difficult for my hunt with the kids out of school. I have a line on two here on the island. Ones a 92 Crystalite Super Exceed, the other is a 92 Chamonix, each with 90,000ish kms. Both nice condition. Crystalite has servicing by a person I have never heard of, the chamonix is getting serviced by someone on the island with an extremely good reputation, but it's $2000 more. I would be really happy with either.

Who?

and Who?

posting the names will help people that may have relevant info provide it for you.

edit: also, $2000 is about what a full proper servicing should cost, there are places that do servicing but skip things that are important to these specific vehicles like recore/replace the rad, hoses and a couple other things. there is at least one place that has one of the best reps out there for delis that doesn't do this to the best of my knowledge, CCautos does.

I don't get paid by or get deals from ccautos btw.

Crystalite from jautoimports service from a place in Courtenay that also does inspections..i think it was called Reid's sorry, think accent. The chamonix is from glen at ccautos....but when i said extremely good reputation, you guys already knew that. Either way, glen is getting my business...working on the cheaper crystalite, buying his chamonix, or working on whatever else might come along. He seems like a real solid guy, I got that feeling from him before I even saw this site (he told me about it btw)

I don't know anything about jautoimports or Reid's, but I do know that if I was buying on the island I would either:

a) buy one from CC Autos; or
b) get CC Autos to inspect and service one I bought elsewhere

Either way, I'm going through CC Autos.

But that's just me. I've never met the guy, but I hear enough of him on this site to know he's gold.

Well, I got one last night. I got the 92 Super Exceed Crystalite.
Left Lake Cowichan just before dinner time for a treacherous 3 hour drive to Courtenay. The roads were brutal in the little car we took up. When we arrived at jautoimports, Tadamasa the salesman, greeted us....very nice guy. Took it for a test drive, everything seemed to work. Looked over the maintenance history, most of the major's were done. I was very happy with Tadamasa and jautoimports. Bought the van.
The conditions on the way home were way worse, but the van felt awesome. The only issue I had the whole way was when I was on the Lake Cowichan hwy and big buck decided to test the delica handling by walking RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME while i was going 90kms. It's funny in those situations when everything just slows down and the million thoughts that go through your head in a split second. I didn't dare hit the brakes with the icy roads, so luckily for me and the buck, there was nobody in the oncoming lane. Missed it by less than a meter on my first rhd road trip...could have grabbed his tail if my window was open. The whole trip back was a huge test for this thing. I was really pleased.
Took all the kids to school this morning in it, they loved it. I would have just got the chamonix if it was only up to me and had a little more $ to play with, but all the kids love it (you were right, i know) the girlfriend loves it, and so do I.
Next trip is to coombs after the holidays, for Glen to take a good look at her.
Pics will come later.

Thanks to everyone who gave me advice.
