I like the awning on the grey silver delica.
Is that a home made one or something a person can purchase.
Looks pretty slick.
Wish I was out there having fun in the bush.
Nice vids too!

This is Quebecdelica crossing a rocky washout:

I like the "movie projector" sound of this video. How did you do it?

Thanks for the pix and videos. Again, I kick myself for not ordering a white Delica.
Delicat, how did your son like the bouncy bouncy drive?

Funny thing with my son he was fast asleep most of the ride!
As for the sound, it's my van that you can hear running beside my camera and some FRS communication...

				Part 1 of 2
I'm back in Calgary, so I can post some of my photos.
The run down the Silver Skagit road was fun, until we got to the end. Then we had to find a good spot to camp, done so ably by Delicat et al. We set up camp. As you've already read, there were many Québecois in attendance, so a flag was de rigeur.

We set up on the river, so a great view was available. The campfire was set up near the edge, just to test our night vision.

In the morning, Jay of TardisDeli fame decided to give his own interpretation of driving down logging roads.

The weather was misty, cloudy, with the occasional sprinkle of rain. Saturday morning, the scenery was wonderful, especially for someone living in the dryness of Alberta.

More mood shots, just to give you an idea of what you missed.
Once all the breakfast was eaten, and the consultation and decision-making for Saturday was done, we headed to Hope to visit the Kettle Valley Railway.

An engineering marvel, carving the tunnels out of the rock of a steep-walled canyon. Now it is a walking and bicycle trail.
Then off to find some forestry roads and have fun.
Continued in part 2.

Here we are, all lined up. From front to back we have:
Delicat, Erebus, QuebecDelica, Profister (hiding), Fexlboi (with roofrack), and TardisDeli
Sunday morning we started back to the Vancouver area, with a stop at Bridal Falls.

On the way back to town, we passed through the weigh scales to see how we did. Some interesting differences.
front	back	total (all in kg)
1000	1380	2380	Fexlboi
1080	1310	2390	Delicat
1250	810	2060	QuebecDelica
1330	1080	2400	Erebus
1420	1020	2430	TardisDeli
Some of the variation is due to firewood, different fuel levels, camping gear, number of people, etc. QuebecDelica's is the nearest to stock. Interesting to see the difference in front/rear balance.
On Tuesday morning, my Delica visited CVI to have the injection pump rebuilt (the purpose of my trip). While I was at it, I had a block heater installed, and observed the dent I'd put in the fuel tank and its skidplate. Memo to self: never follow Delicat; he has at least 6" of clearance on me. Both times I got stuck I was following Delicat.

Just a few of the parts that make up an injection pump.
As many of you know, you can't be at the TardisDeli motel without Jay doing some modifications to your vehicle. So mine now has a shorepower connection (120 volt input), with a permanently wired battery charger and block heater, and outlets inside the cabin for 120 volts when connected to external power.
It was a wonderful, tiring yet relaxing trip.

I'd be interested in seeing how this was wired up? are there any schematics online?

And that's what it's all about.......
Jay is a true camping pro, camp chair posture like that comes with years of practice - and the right relaxed mind set.
Looks like a great time!!!!!
Best Regards,
Kevin

Noobie here. Would this be the truck scales I see on the hwys?
You just drive up and ask? Pay?
Was QuebecDelica's with or w/o bench?
Thanks,
Isaac

Yes, freeway truck scale and they are free. Just drive in.
As for Quebecdelica he had the bench, just not much gears with him. I'm not sure if the actual position on the scale made a noticeable difference in weight 'cause some (especially front) can't really be justified like why Fexlboi (2 people up front) are only 1000kg when Erebus being alone was 1330kg. That I know of, he's not THAT fat!

Looking at the numbers more closely, my theory is that the numbers for front/rear for Fexlboi and Delicat are reversed. So, revised, the numbers are:
front	back	total (all in kg)
1380	1000	2380	Fexlboi
1310	1080	2390	Delicat
1250	0810	2060	QuebecDelica
1330	1080	2400	Erebus
1420	1020	2430	TardisDeli
That looks more plausible. Put all the blame on Christine, she wrote them down, I only transcribed them. And we all know that I don't make mistrakes.

You are right, we had 1380 for the front and 1000 on the back axle

That still makes Erebus 20kg fatter than me!

But what's up with skinny Quebecdelica, a full 80kg lighter?!? Time to put some weight on buddy!
