Thats exactly what mine is! Have you tried taking off the rubber seal on the door like Bruce says?

I didn't get a chance to do mine yet but it looks quite likely. I peeled it back a bit and there looks to be a bit of rust just where the horizontal seam is on the metal above the rear lights. So if its nice weather tomorrow I'll pull the whole thing off and clean then vaseline it.

Nope, haven't taken that apart yet - or the light. I was thinking of having someone hose the area while I check from inside. Let me know how your adventure goes!

Just tackled the dreaded leaky floor seam behind the quarterpanel. Took me about three hours including a trip to Rona for some screws that I stripped in the process. I used Sikaflex, which is a marine sealant/adhesive (about 20.00 tube). I followed the directions from the UK site posting. I had some rust buildup around the seam which would be a direct sign of water penetration. Anyone that has the leaky floor problem should tackle this project as there is an obvious problem with the factory sealant used on this seam. Most of it just crumpled away on contact. I'll stay posted when the heavy rains hit again.

:D Hey guys, just got my van back from cc autos in coombs and told Glenn about the leak that i couldn't seem to fix from that darn quarter pannel, and Glenn told me that what the problem really is, is the windshield seal has deteriorated and needs to be re-sealed... so he got a auto glass guy to come by his shop while my van was in there, and got him to pressure feed silicone sealant all around the windshield rubber..
50$ which i think did the trick, i went to sombrio yesterday and it rained pretty hard and the day before as well and still no leak! i'll keep my fingers crossed and keep you guys posted if it starts to leak again but if some of you are still experiencing wet floors from what you think is that quarter pannel, you should look into that, just go to any auto glass shop, they should be able to re-seal any winshield! :P Cheers!

I haven't fixed the front leak yet on my van. I still have to find out where the rear leak is....

No one else have the rear leak??? check your jack/tools area or your rear windshield wiper resevoir.

:D Just do what everyone does in langford, tarp the whole thing off and kiss that leak goodby!! :P aahhh man i don't know, i checked mine yesterday for the first time,(rear leak..) and it looked pretty dry in both compartments.. i saw a little bit of water that seem to be coming from the seam that is just above the tool/jack compartment where the two pieces of plastic meet. a few droplets of water... i'm just gonna drive the thing, i can only spend so much time fixing every little thing that goes wrong with these vans, you can't win! always something! if i see more water coming from there then i might investigate a bit more, but a few droplets won't sink my ship! spring is around the corner so unless global warming kills us all by then, a rag to wipe her tears should do the thing!.. who knows, maybe our vans are just home sick! :P anyways, any development about the proper fix for this, then let us know! Not wanting to upset the poor Garlic lad any longer, I have finally got off my lazy Fish & Chip munching but and re-done the photos of how to remove a cool box! :lol: :lol:

But why am I putting this in the 'Wet Floors' section I hear you cry......

....because Mr French Stick needs to remove his carpets in order to give them a good washing after being so damp for so long due to his long term leaky windscreen (windshield )

I figured this might be handy for any more people who might feel the urge to go ripping out the flooring in your now dry deli footwells, so thought it might be better posted here??

This is how to do it......(watch closely Francois because I did this just for you! :P :P )

Remove the upper bash plate/belly pan (the RED part in the photo) from under the front of the motor (4 x 12mm bolts)


In the area above where the bash plate was, undo the two nuts (RED) and the two bolts (GREEN)


Now remove the bolt from between the air conditioning pipes (GREEN)


From inside the cab, unplug the wiring to the three cool box relays (RED) Remember to note which plug goes to which timer!


Now remove the screw from the timer unit (RED) and unplug & remove the unit (BLUE) in order to give you room to unplug the cool box loom (GREEN)


Now you can lift the cool box clear - but be careful of the drain pipe coming from the bottom of the unit! (BLUE)


This photo shows where the nuts & bolts hold the cool box in place (RED) and the A/C pipe bolt (YELLOW) and the drain hole (BLUE)


I had the housing around the gear selector removed when I took the gearbox out to give me more room. It might be wise to remove this too before taking the cool box out because it is squeezed in pretty tight!! As far as I can remember, this is all you need to do to remove the box. If there is anything else that I might have missed, it's nothing bad and will be pretty obvious when following the instructions I have written.

You will need to get the A/C system re-gassed once you re-fit the box - but this is pretty obvious! :lol:

(i guess i should wash them everyonce in awhile! :lol: ) so sounds like if i remove the box, it means that after putting it back on, that i will have to get my AC system recharged..? man this thing is draining my bank account latelly!

*#%&*!!@!!! I've Sikaflexed both quarterpanels, re-sealed my windshield, and the bastard still leaks like she always had. Did I miss something? I just don't understand where the water is coming in from. It's on both sides and generally gets most wet right by the drainholes first and then spreds from there. Also wetness behind windhield fluid resovoir and in same area on driver's side. I love the van but this problem is starting to drive me nuts. Anyone else?

yeah, i know how you feel, after paying 50$ to get the windshield re-sealed, the bitch still leaks from the same spots as before. not as much, but still does! i gave up, let her leak! i took the carpet out and i keep a rag to dry excess water, mine is only on the driver side but still, i have to say that a baseball bat came to mind a few times as a quick fix! i was thinking about bottling the water and selling it to compensate my waste of time and money trying to fix something that can't be fixed! maybe vulcans have a solution to the problem, any treckers (also known as geeks..) out there with a possible similar situation with their enterprise models??? uh?..

I had some very wet footwells the other week with all the rain right after I got my van... Did the quarter panel seal replacement, had to get an impact driver to get one screw off (and nearly stripped a couple others before) but luckily crappy tire was out of their $40 driver and I had to go to Princess Auto where they had a $10 one on sale for $5!! Gave it a wash and no wetness, but the real test is a solid week of rain...

Well, here is an old thread that is back considering the wet west coast week we've experienced.

I've read through this entire post like 4 times - and did the quarter panel fix, which did in fact improve the dryness factor to the passenger side greatly, but not 100%. The driver side was improved slightly. So, in the end, I'm glad I did the repair as clearly it was needed (as also evidenced by the dry cracked sealant in my hand...what a mess in there). But it's also not enough.

I'll do the vaseline thing on the doors this week and report back on the results.
I don't think my windshield / windscreen is a problem - not evidence of anything coming down from that area.

Did notice this evening some moisture which appears to be coming from the area where the steering column passes through the floor - but could just be "accumulation" and a false read on my part.

Anyway - this is a challenge to me - had hoped the quarter panel fix was all I needed - but clearly it's wrong. Was going to give up - but drove my wife's van today and it reminded me how a dry vehicle is just the right thing to have.....will keep everyone posted and take photos when i finally nail this little bugger!

If anyone else has found a leak in the footwell area that is not covered in this post already - please by all means make a comment.

Dang.. after driving to work in yet another monsoon this morning I checked my floors and I have quite a leak as well.. only seems to be the front left passenger foot area though. I'll do the vaseline on the door seals thing, (or maybe a premium lubricant? KY? ) good idea anyways, and see about getting the windshield re-sealed. I need to get a rock chip repaired at speedyglass anyways, but they won't do chip repair on a rainy day..... so basically they told me to come back in June when it has stopped raining

My passenger footwell is filled with water, so the fixes either didn't work or I got leaks elsewhere... I put petroleum jelly on the rubber door seals already, and it appears to seal well, so I'll be hunting for the source...
