this is series 2 now as many 1996 model L400 has throttle handle now. like L300 old type. which is nice.
as per the LSD i have not seen any LSD so far as the L400 has awd option.
i presume thru my understanding is that they dont need as this L400 has awd. not like L300 dont have awd.
so thats the big difference.
so i guess there is no used of putting lsd on this as this L400 has awd option

I assume Sebastian is referring to the second generation l400 which apparently got release in 1996:

In 1996/1997 the Delica Space Gear was upgraded with a facelift model. The upgrade is mostly cosmetic with changes to the lighting clusters and front bodypanel, with the integration of a moulded bumper in place of the original three section bullbar. The engine was upgraded with an electronic control type distribution type jet pump and an electronic sidestep was made standard on the higher specification versions.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this l400 looks like every other l400 in Canada to me. Mardy, can you shed some light on when it is possible to buy the facelifted l400s?

The fog lights are in the actual body, but i thought that they lost the tube bull bars.

All series II Spacegears look different. The body moulding in the front bumper/quarter panels are different.

Production of Series one continued alongside Series two.

Because the series two has a lower approach angle, more fibreglass up front and a more complicated electronic injection pump, many favor the series one (better approach angle/less body moulding/simple injection pump) over it.

I think the L300's were produced until 2007 or 2008. They don't need to make a comback, they can still be "new" to us until 2022
If my L300 dies in the next 11 years...i'll just get another 15 year old L300

I just meant that the L400's seem to be more popular now for importing despite the fact that they were both being made in 1996 and in my opinion the L300 looks cooler.
