Delica Canada | Mitsubishi Van Club

Hi all,

Since I had such a blast at the August Calgary Deli Meet, I'm going to organize another one. It will be in October, a Saturday or Sunday, either 6, 7, 20, 21 or 27th. Which one it is is open to debate. I already know those are the only weekends Green1 and I are available.

The plan? A picnic like we had on Powderface Trail, but this time some mild off-roading will be involved.

From Cochrane we will go west, then NW on the Forestry Trunk Road about 20 km, then we will go west about 20 km up the Ghost River, ending up at the edge of the Foothills near Black Rock Mountain. This might be more off-roading than most have done, but trust me, the Delica can handle it. I was going down the one steep hill when I passed a Sunfire heading up.

I went there for the first decent "road" trip in the Delica, and realized we just gotta do a get together with the Delica gang. Here is the kind of view you will get:


And we will end up driving right alongside the Ghost River:


So who's in? This should be lots of warning so people can plan. Delicas from everywhere are welcome.

Count me in... Any weekend is ok for me so far.

I just bought one ion abbotsford and i will be picking it up near the end of Sept. I live in Peace River and if i am not working, I am there!

We live by Pigeon Lake ( west of Wetaskiwin). If all goes well I'd love to be at the meet.

Well, if we all time it right, you can come through here on your way home from picking it up!

thanx for the invitation ruminante but my contract with park Canada end octobre 1st and I have to go with my girlfriend to William's lake as soon as I'm done here(lake louise).Aldo I'm missing again another meet I will try to make the 2008 meet that M. Porter is organising. You guys will definitely have lots of fun at the gost river(been there many time myself) and take lots of pictures for me please!! Pedro

Im Just moved out to Saskatchewan from Calgary in June.. if we come back in October for a visit i will totally be there :D .... Is there going to be a national one anytime?

perhaps some clarification is in order... they are ALL national ones... or even international, everyone is welcome to all meets, and the more that show up the merrier!

<tongue in cheek>But since most parts of the country have separatist movement except southern Ontario, does that mean we have to check the political views of every Delica owner who shows up at a meet to see if they are federalist or separatist? After all you can't have a national meet without nationalists.</tongue in cheek>

As for dates, I'm now scheduled to go to Grande Prairie on the weekend of the 6th and 7th, so the the dates are now 20, 21, or 27. Anyone have a preference?

If the timing and weather work out, our Delicas will also be the search subject for the air search and rescue group I belong to. So we might have some planes looking for us. Should be fun.

Looking for first roadtrip from Van - will be watching this post of the final decision to date and time and do best to be there subject work, kids, kitchen pass etc etc - the usual stuff!
Search and rescue - adds a very cool element for sure!!!!

Just picked it up.......love it so far! I will watch the post and find out what the final date it and i should be able to make the trip down.
