Crank pulley and harmonic balancer issue
Posted: Sun May 17, 2009 9:47 am
Hi there.
My Deli has been screaming for a few weeks. Put some belt dressing on and it went away.
Started again last week intermittently. Then temperature started to climb a bit when squealing, not much but more than usual.
I went into the engine compartment to find the crank pulleys on the harmonic balancer were loose. I could turn them independant of the balancer. Pulled the vehicle off the road while it still ran. Took the fan shrouds out, fan, belts related pulleys...
Got stuck at the balancer assembly. Can't get the *^&W^*ing thing off. Do I need a new balancer w/pulleys pressed on?
Do you think this engine is screwed? Anyone with advice on this one? A message or phone call would be appreciated right now ..... Thomas 306-764-3050.
