Stainless Exhaust
Anyone upgraded to a larger diameter stainless exhaust? What cats and mufflers did you use? Approximate cost to do such a system? Was it worth it?

Mine came with one. I looked up the part # as it's an entire single system from the turbo to the tail pipe. Cost almost threw me off my chair. $2,800 USD. 
I think you would be better off going to a good reputable exhaust shop and have them bend up a 2.5 or 3" exhaust for you. I can't see it costing more than 1,000-1,300.
It will be costly because it's Looooong and Huge !
And it is worth it. You'll feel the difference in your seat when you push down on the right pedal.

couples questions:
-what size is the stock delica exhaust piping
-what size is the opening off the manifold
-how do you bridge the difference between the two?
- what kinds of power improvements can be expected?
-is a cherry blaster a type of muffler or is it a noise maker?

You asking about the L300 or L400 ? They are different.
I got a noticeable increase in acceleration from stop, mid and wide open throttle along.
Cherry bomb used to be a noise maker when it first came out.
Now the company Cherry Bomb makes a wide range of pipes, cats, mufflers, etc...
They make a great diesel one.

Is a clamped (not welded) exhaust system any less efficient? Is there any downside other than it not looking as clean?
After seeing the Cherry Bomb link and some pre-bent exhaust pieces at Can Tire, as a non-welder I got to thinking...

I think your more likely to have a leak and for it to all apart faster.
