Sorting Out Cold Start

Hi All-

Well, sorting out the last of my issues with my new L400.

My cold idle is way low. When I did my coolant flush, I did indeed find the tube to the cold start capsule was clogged. Thx, Jessie.

Fixed that, and I have verified that the cold start lever is moving from one position to another. The problem is that someone has likely adjusted the cold start down when the tube clogged in the first place, so currently, my cold idle is like 400...

The advice I need: there appear to be two screw adjusters on the associated spring and other stamped metal levers near the cold start control. One on the front, facing up at about a 45 degree angle, and one on the back, very small, facing straight down.

Is one of these the cold idle adjustment? If so, which one?

Thanks for any and all replies.

The cold start idle speed adjuster is the one that points upwards and is slightly angled towards the front of the vehicle. The lock nut is a bit hard to loosen but if you remove the A/C idle actuator it makes it a bit easyier to loosen and to make you adjustments and the wrench or socket size is 8mm.It may take a few adjustments to get your prefered cold idle speed setting but it makes for a much nicer idle on cold start.
