Hi All,

We are trying to get the periodically stuck rear brakes fixed on our L400 in North Vancouver. We have been dealing with RJD, but need to find a different repair shop. Today, as we were leaving RJD, we passed CrownTech and there were two L400s out front. I stopped and spoke to one of the shop owners and he said they do work on them and a possible sticky caliper on the rear should be simple to diagnose and is a pretty easy fix. The rear sunroof has come off its tracks on one side and needs to be righted.

Does anyone have eny experience with this shop? Otherwise, to Richmond we go, but would rather avoid the travel with sticky brakes.

Thanks,
Louise

Louise,

the brakes can be fixed anywhere.

99% of the time, the slider pins get stuck and cause irregular wear on the pads/rotors and eventually seizing of the caliper pistons.

The rear brakes on the L400 can be ordered from any shop in North America.

This is what you tell them :

1994 Mitsubishi Montero V6

That is the north american model equivalent for the rear brake pads, calipers and rotors.

Cheers & good luck
Jesse

Hey Louise, how'sitgoin',eh?

I have to be straight up with you. I have heard two accounts of very unprofessional behaviour coming from CrownTech. It's a pity because they sub out to a very good mechanic and I certainly would not wish to group him with them. Honestly, if it were me I would not go to CrownTech. Consider JFarsang's idea or go to CVI if you don't know anywhere else.

Falco.
