I've never worked on or installed a block heater and am wondering if it would be easier to just install a circulating heater and battery blankets (like in my cruiser) in a Delica. Seeking input/opinions/tech advice.

I have never heard of anyone successfully installing a block heater in a Delica... best to stick with the coolant heater I think...

I would put in the circulation heater , and if you run synthetic oil you wont have any problems, your engine will be warm and your oil will flow freely.
just make sure to give your tire a kick or bang on the door befor you start the engine, I used to tap the horn once.
Why? becuase if its cold enought to have your heater on then you will start getting cats sitting on your engine because its warmer than the ground.
Cold climates have lots of cats with bobed tails. and they make a heck of a mess if you get them caught up in the fan.... Ok the wife also says, its not about the mess , you wouldent want to hurt the cat. .

Thanks, good stuff. As for the cats... well I'm a dog person. Quite familiar with the phenom of winter cats here in Edmonton. Is synthetic the norm for Delica Drivers or what?

Synthetic is good for anyengine that is allready broken in, but since it also does not get thick when the weather drops like normal oil . I grew up in Edomonton, and synthetic oil is the only way to go, normal oil gets like glue at -20 - -40 hellish winters there lol
