Hey Everyone, thanks again for all the help.

Like I was mentioning in my other thread, I do a lot of fire road/back road driving and I find the delica to be great and great fun to drive at pretty good speeds over these rougher roads.

The problem is that, without exception, there will also be a fair bit of wash board that will shake the machine up pretty good. The delica takes this well except for the sliding door. More specifically the large window on the door rattles pretty good. I have gone around and tightened every bolt, nut etc that I can see but the glass portion shakes pretty good still.

If I take off the inside cover of the window (up and around the top part) will I find anything underneath worth my while to tighten. If there are no clips or whatever then I would not bother as I find these old plastic parts on clips to be a hassle to deal with (cracked plastic, broken clips, etc)

I've noticed the rubber seals around my L400s windows are a little hard with age.

A brief treament of Rubber-renew (or similar xylene-based solventy goop) does wonders to soften and swell them up a bit so they seal/hold fast better.

Just be sure to clean the stuff off well, or else it can dissolve the rubber completely if left on excessively long.

Don't take off that inside window trim piece!! I did today and found a series of clips, two of which broke off. Delica plastic is too old to mess with.

There are no bits to tighten there. The window is sealed to the door and can't be easily removed. I can't even guess what causes your door to rattle. Have to think on that for a while. Could it be something in the lower door?

Washboard will make anything and everything rattle.

Well just a guess here... I know some people were changing out the bottom roller piece for a longer one to clear after market wheel well extensions. (damn the name escapes me what they are really called :() Maybe that piece is lose and rattling. Please someone tell me they can understand that garble I just wote hehe

The bottom of the door is good and tight, it is the upper portion with all the glass that gets rattling. The roller has a bit of play, and there is nothing to really help suck in the upper potion of the door. I may try to shim the track a bit where the roller ends up when the door is shut. Not sure how, but I'll rig something up and see how it goes. Try to pull the door in a bit and may be try and put a bit of foam rubber in strategic places to tighten the fit.
