It worked, nxski wrote:It shouldn't. There should be a little groove on either side. if you pry gently, it should pop off very easily.

Re: L300 smokey on startup and rough idles for a few minutes
My bet is a faulty glow plug or a glow plug circuit issue (including a possibly faulty engine temperature sensor. Does your dashboard temperature gauge appear to show an accurate engine temperature? Also, and this is very unlikely but will say it anyway... can you look at the glow plugs and determi...

Re: L300 smokey on startup and rough idles for a few minutes
Hello, just curious how long does it take for the smoking and rough idle to disappear? Also the black liquid could be water depending if you have a catalytic converter. I am also curious you say we have the same engine as you but yours lack a turbo, do you know what type of injection system you hav...

Re: L300 smokey on startup and rough idles for a few minutes
Few days ago, I went to Mitsubishi Service Centre, and told them about my problem. Then they cleaned injectors and re corrected the valve tappet clearance and told me problem is fixed. But today I noticed that, problem still remains. Also I forgot to tell you that a black liquid comes out(a little)...

Re: L300 smokey on startup and rough idles for a few minutes
We listen to the news in Canada and we hear about the Tamils in Sri Lanka ~ I didn't realise that there were also Sinhalese ~ please accept my apologies, evidentally I still have much to learn. Regarding the battery terminals, it doesn't take much to create a corrosion barrier on them and it can be...

Re: L300 smokey on startup and rough idles for a few minutes
X2 Hey Gura, நீங்கள் எப்படி இருக்கிறீர்கள்? (I hope I got that right) :M Something you must remember about Delicas and Canada ~ we don't get them until they are 15 years old. A brand new Delica to us is one that has only just turned 15 years of age. In fact, Mitsubishi Canada don't recognize Delica...

Re: L300 smokey on startup and rough idles for a couple minu
What's the amperage of your battery(ies) like? How new are your batteries? How dirty are the battery terminals? Have you drained the water trap in the fuel filter lately? When was the last time it was changed? Just a few thoughts... smiles. Falco. As I said above, this is a new vehicle(manufactured...

Re: L300 smokey on startup and rough idles for a couple minu
Rev it higher at start-up. Around 1000 RPM and it should sound much better. The Injectors could cause this problem, glow plugs, temperature sensor. There are many reasons that a start-up would sound like this (mine has for the last year) If you take it to a good shop they might be able to narrow it...
