Windshield crack... damnit.
I had a chip repaired almost 5 years ago... and the recent cold snap just just caused it to crack. It's only a few inches at the moment and low enough that it's not obstructing my vision, but it's gotta be dealt with. Anyone know where a fella might purchase a new one on or near the island? Would a ...

Re: Wheel came off... Please read!
The first time it happened we removed the broken retainer rings. Only the front two were broken so we took them off. The second time it happened we removed all of the retainer rings. There are no hubcaps left on my van. The hubs are painted black. I've put black dots on the lugs and check them every...

Re: Wheel came off... Please read!
In the case of the November issue, I would say that it was likely an issue with the garage. However, they fixed it all up and changed the way they do business. They're good people and no one was hurt... they've been in business for a long time too... As for the lock nuts, they aren't an end all solu...

Re: Wheel came off... Please read!
This whole thing freaks me out. I have my van back from the garage. Every little bump on the road and I cringe. I have to admit that the idea of tampering still seems so far fetched, yet I can't rule it out. The cop said that this would be an example of public mischief. In cases like this there is g...

Re: Shade assembly for L300
Stopped in to Coombs and spoke with those good folks...
Always a pleasure. Picked up 2 working shades and several other bits I've been needing.

Re: Wheel came off... Please read!
Heres an update... So, it's still a mystery. I've contacted the local PD and filed a report. Both the garage and I figure that even though tampering is highly unlikely, the possibility is scary enough to warrant a police report. I can't imagine someone being so psychotic to endanger my life, my fami...

Re: Wheel came off... Please read!
Interesting... I drove 300k yesterday with my kids on a road trip to Coombs with no issues at all. Then today after driving into town, got a haircut (parked for 1.5hrs)... maybe 5k total. No indication, no bumpiness or warning at all, just the noise of a hubcap bouncing down the road. I turned and p...

Wheel came off... Please read!
My wheels have been popping off my van while driving... November 2013 I had new Tires and Brakes put on my van (L300 '92). The morning after picking up the van from the Garage, BOOM! My front left wheel came flying off into traffic. Yes, straight up popped off the bolts, bounded into the passenger d...

Shade assembly for L300
So, I removed all the panels, vents, lights, and crystal lite shades to prep my van for roof repair. I found a place that will clear the rust out, replace troubled spots and repaint for a decent price. Pics to follow. My question is, anyone know where a fellow might get a working shade assembly? I a...

LED interior lights vs. Fluorescents?
My Fluorescent tubes burnt out (they had a good solid run though!).... I spoke with a guy regarding swapping out with LED's. Which sounds pretty fun... and my kids would love it. Anyone know where I might buy new fluorescents in Victoria (or anywhere that ships)? And/or has anyone else swapped out t...

Re: Ladder for L300 and autobody
I wanted to bump this one as I received a PM but no reply... Still looking for a ladder.
Also, anyone recommend an auto body shop in Victoria (area) that does rust? I've got extensive rust on my roof and I need professional help. I've done what I know.. now I need the pros.
Cheers,
Jon

Re: Really cool app - Car Care
I've been using this app since 2008... I've been keeping track since then.
The app is called Road Trip.
Just thought I'd share this one too.

Re: Melted mystery connector thingy... any ideas?
Indeed my DRL's are out!
Damnit! So, mystery sorted... now, anyone recommend somewhere in Vic that can fix it up?
Or for a handy guy, not so knowledgeable about mechanics and even less about electrical systems... any idea how to fix it?
Cheers! I appreciate all the help!

Re: Melted mystery connector thingy... any ideas?
Thanks for the replies guys... Yeah I thought it might be some aftermarket fuse, but what the hell it's for? I'm at a loss. I checked everything out, lights stereo, wipers, fans, dash lights... everything seems to be working, no warming lights. I haven't installed any after market bits. It's a freak...
