Re: Kiwi Deli
Oops, didn't realise I'd missed these replies. Sorry guys! :? Yep, much nicer than Oz. Kiwi's are much friendlier! (I'm a Brit btw). That said, the deserts, etc in Oz are pretty cool. Everything is green in NZ. The whole thing could easily be made in a weekend, I reckon. Maybe less if you have all t...

Re: Kiwi Deli
It's been quite a while since my first post on the deli and things have changed a bit so figured I'd update it. I travelled around the South Island for 3 weeks over Christmas & New Years and decided I wasn't happy with the layout of the interior, so I'm in the process of revamping and rearrangin...

Re: South Island Trip in the Deli
Cheers for the comments guys. The place is just stunning. If anyone comes out here to tavel and can only do one island, then I'd recommend the South Island. The North Island is awesome too, but the South is just stunning and quite unspoilt. You can drive for an hour in some areas of the South Island...

South Island Trip in the Deli
My mate and I spent Christmas and New Years touring around the South Island in NZ, so figured I'd share a few pics of our travels. We covered about 5000km in just under 3 weeks and used a lot of fuel  WVO conversion might be on the cards for future excursions :-D We spent Christmas day with f...

Re: Camperizing
Whatever route you go, don't make things too permanent until you've thoroughly tested it all. I had mine sussed (or so I thought) and had spent ages setting it up how I wanted it. I've just returned from nearly 3 weeks travelling in it and the interior is now in pieces again as I've come up with bet...

Timing Belt Replacement Post?
Hi guys,
Can anyone point me in the direction of the post which gave pics and a 'how-to' for changing the timing belt? I'm sure there was one on here but I've spent about 20mins with the search function and can't find it.
Cheers in advance guys!

Re: Suggestions for my next RHD 4x4/AWD?
Don't bother with Subarus if the milage is more than 100k (km). Some people will disagree with me, but from personal experience they're a money pit! My Legacy Grandwagon (2.5litre AWD soft-roader) was a nightmare and an absolute money pit. It handled great and went like stink, but there were so many...

Re: New Delica owner from New Zealand
Cool another Deli enthusiast in NZ! Welcome fuel. I too crashed this board due to a lack of a NZ one
They're a helpful and knowledgable bunch.
Nice van and an absolute bargain!
Look forward to seeing some pics as you modify it.

Re: find any neat artifacts in your deli?
Oh yeah, sorry. They're NZ spiders. It came from another part of the country which is full of the wee critters. They're the most leathal thing in NZ, which is good. Well, apart from the sharks! It's not like Oz where everything will either eat you, poison you, or otherwise find a way of killing you!...

Re: find any neat artifacts in your deli?
I found a lot of these in mine when I got it: http://www.nzma.org.nz/journal/117-1188/748/content01.jpg They're called White-tails and they're venemous, but not typically leathal. They're only small but very aggressive and don't shy away like most spiders. I've had several follow me around  I...

Re: Using a heater for winter camping.
I'd def stay away from running a vehicle on idle for any length of time, irrigardless of whether it's bad for the engine. I know of a guy (my mate's surf buddy) who died from carbon monoxide poisening from sleeping in his van with the engine running. Because the van was stationary, the CO seeped bac...

Re: POR-15
I've used this stuff when I restored the chassis/floorpan on a beetle. It's good stuff for areas that aren't going to take stone chips or abrasion (so use on the roof would be fine), but it does chip easily. Make sure you get their Metal Ready, or a similar acid etch stuff, to use before hand as it ...

Re: Weekend pictures; Off Roading & camping
Cool, thanks for the info again guys. So by trimming, do you mean the bumper (seem to think I've seen something on here about trimming the bumper) or does it involve bodywork too? I'll go have a search and see what I can find. Slowing me down on the hills might be a bit of an issue though. There are...

Re: Weekend pictures; Off Roading & camping
Cheers for the info guys, I'll have a nosey through his topics and maybe drop him a line. If it involves a lift kit though, then it might cause an issue as mods like that have to be checked and certified over here, which means more $$$ and some possible headaches if you get a picky inspector! Cheers...
