Re: Help on oil leak diagnosis

Thanks Growlerbearnz & Lapprentis for your quick replies. I have checked with local part store, and been able to order an overall upper head gasket kit (HS9084PT1), including head gasket, manifold gasket, valve cover gasket and bolt seals. I believe there is also a seal for the camshaft. They wi...

Re: Help on oil leak diagnosis

Thanks Lapprentis for your answer, The "Tojo thread" was the one I was referring in my previous post: its a nicely detailed diy head swap. About rockers: on Tojo's thread (viewtopic.php?f=6&t=16587&hilit=rocker), he changes the whole head, so nothing is clear on how to do just the ...

Re: Help on oil leak diagnosis

Thanks Growlerbearnz, If I choose to replace the gasket (following Tojo thread will be quite helpful), what would you recommend to change, other than the gasket itself, knowing that I already changed (since I own the truck, less than 5 years/50 000km): -timing belts and both pulley tensioners -water...

Help on oil leak diagnosis

Hi everybody ! It's been a long time since i browse this forum, most of the work needed on my l300 was regular and quite simple. For long, there has been a tiny leak of oil in the back of the engine. Last spring, i decided to change the valve cover gasket for a second time since i own the truck, bec...

Re: Brake Pedal goes to floor everything new !! :(

Hi there, I am reviving this post because I do have the exact same problem. Spongy brake pedal and weak brakes when car's running, but hard when not running (or the same thing - hard pedal brake- when I clamp the vacuum booster line while running). I changed the master cylinder with a another used (...

Re: Canada-USA-Mexico-Belize-Gta trip

Hello, We are in Yucatan, MEX now. A small pueblo of 2000 inhabitants, called Telchac Puerto. Very nice. We drove our way here in 3-4 days. We did drive at night, but not after 10 pm. Locals told us it was still safe until that late, the worse, hijackings, happening normally in the middle of the nig...

Re: LOW Iddling PROBLEM: one day in TEXAS to fix it...

Hi again Jesse, We did cross the border yesterday because wew found the problem wasn't totally fixed while driving and wanted to clear the border area before night time. The car runs ok, even in the Sierra Madre Oriental, but it does some black smole while accelarating hard. I remembered reading abo...

Re: LOW Iddling PROBLEM: one day in TEXAS to fix it...

Everything is wired and working. Problem seems to be partially resolve, as it still does once in a while the symptom previously enumerated, but at a lesser degree.

We cross the Mex border within 2-3 hours and a let you know later if things evolves...

Thanx again for your advice Jesse,

Re: LOW Iddling PROBLEM: one day in TEXAS to fix it...

I understand what you say about pumps closer to tanks. The supply lines are exiting on top of each tank, so i figure this is the best, and lowest place to install them. And having pumps that permit flow even if they are out is a good advice too. Do you have a suggestion on how to make these work. I ...

Re: LOW Iddling PROBLEM: one day in TEXAS to fix it...

Thanks Jesse for this quick answer. Very much appreciated! How is it when driving casually around the city and sitting at stop lights? As you suspect, when I drive around in the city or stop at lights, it tends to die at low throttle. If you're getting good power at 1/2 to full throttle but it still...

LOW Iddling PROBLEM: one day in TEXAS to fix it...

Hi guys (and girls..), We made it to Houston, Texas, starting from Montreal on tuesday. After 4277 km, our beauty is doing fine except for a small problem with too low idling, and not starting as easily as before. Here are the basic symptoms: *Even after driving a long stretch, when I start the engi...

Canada-USA-Mexico-Belize-Gta trip

Hi there, We are leaving soon (next sathuday!!!) on a 8 weeks road trip. We will travel fast at first to the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico, than where ever we feel like going (probably to see some friends in Guatemala). We travel heavy, with a modified pop-up top Delica, 4 children and 2 adults. If yo...
