Driver's seat slide mechanism

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Driver's seat slide mechanism

Post by rfahren »

The heavy wire that connects the driver's side under-seat latch with the slide release mechanism broke, with the seat stuck--most unfortunately--in its furthest forward position. I can reach under and pivot what I think it was attached to, but the seat still refuses to slide backwards. I imagine I'll be able to pick up another spring from a parts van, but does anyone have any diagrams or photos of what's actually under there? Or does anyone have any suggestions how to at least slide the seat back a bit? Because of where the seat's currently positioned, it doesn't look as though I can get a clear purchase on all four bolts of either set, front or rear, that attach the seat to the rails or the rails to the floor.

Sorry if this question's been kicked around the block already--I couldn't find any reference when I searched.

Thanks
Ron

On closer inspection I realized that the latch lever engages its own set of notches on the outside slide rail. Using both hands I was able to release both sides simultaneously and at least move the seat back. This should allow me to get to the bolts at both ends of the rails now. Ron
