Your beast is a nice looking rig, Gezzza ~ So you're running UHF, eh? Do you need a license for that in Aus? I have a HAM radio with UHF. Some UHF frequencies in Canada are license free (Family Radio Service) but the wattage is limited and consequently the transmissions are very limited.

A couple of members in Canada have had their roofs painted with a product called "Rhino Liner", which is originally designed for lining out pick-up truck beds, which I am presuming is the same or similar to your ute liner. Pretty tough stuff.

What is the reason for removing the A/C unit? I would think that in Australia the aircon would be an important feature.

Falco.

Hey,
Nice choice of data for gauges.
Do you ever regret removing AC?
Did it not work in the first place?
I have Been toying with the idea of removing
the air-conditioning for a long time.
Nice looking van man,looks like
You have a different rear bumper bar then I have seen,
Can you post a stern view pic too?

Right On! 8-)

That would be a truck bed liner for which there are many products that could be used including hippo liner, rhino liner, EZ liner, etc.

The uhf requires no licence but 5 watt is max.I dont seem to pick up much transmissions on it either ,my anttenae is a little short sitting below the roof line.As for the ac i might regret it one day but i have a couple of little 12 v fans to install. First it was only the rear set up plus ac condensor under the passenger floor but i got carried away and dumped nearly half a ute load altogether when it was all gone. Now i have space for my aux battery and maybe air compressor or i might turn it into a toolbox. The old bloke never had a belt on it when he owned it, and i was to lazy to try and check it for working. But there is so much more room every where and heaps easier to work on .Saved a few kg as well. The sliding drawers and storage boxes should be installed by a week or 2.
Here is the rear bar ,could be a super exceed option with those chrome ends on it.

How did you fit 5 inch speakers up front? I'm guessing some modifications?? I've been wanting to put some bigger speakers up front for a while now but haven't found a good way to do it. Any pictures of this setup? Cheers

Weird. Sounds like most folks out here have 4" speakers up front. Hmm I'll have to get out my measuring tape and see what I could fit in there! Thanks for the reply!

I think stock is 3.5 front, 5 mid, and optional 6x9's in the rear at the roof. 5.5's will fit easilly in the mid with a little cutting of the mount plate, but there's no way anything bigger than 4 is fitting in the front without some major mods.
