Another convert

Post by VIParagliding »

Got our new Paragliding-mobile on the weekend from the guys in Parksville.
Glenn at Coombs was very helpful on the mechanical side.

Not a lot of power driving over the Malahat but aside from that, I've been super happy.

The attention novelty wears off soon I gather?

Thanks in advance for all the advice!

I know the feeling. Front bumper was made to take a hanglider front support strut. Plus you can sleep inside while waiting for the winds.

Have fun!

85hp pushing a van just can't compete with most vehicles on the road today, but I think it does pretty good considering...

There are lots of incremental improvements you can do to increase the pep of these vans. Especially if it is "just off the boat".

Things I have done in the past month:

-run some injector cleaner through the system (I got some BG injector cleaner from Marigold Service on Burnside...good stuff).
-run some fuel system cleaner (removes algae in the fuel system and has been suggested by some to do this monthly).
-I generally put in a fuel additive to each tank of fuel.
-check turbo boost pressure and increase if it is low.
-clean EGR valve or disable it.
-adjust the fuel mixture on the injector pump
-increase the diameter of the exhaust system and thus the overall flow (this is still in the To Do area for me).

I am sure there other things that can be done to increase the tune of the beast but these are some that you can do yourself....with some guidance from posts on this site.

Welcome aboard!

-Mark
