It's a bit of a long shot, but maybe someone has a set of cross bars that will fit a crystal lite L400 roof. I have a snow to surf race this weekend, and need to fit a Kayak on my roof. If anyone has a pair in the mid-island area and would be willing to loan them out to a stranger (yikes!) in exchange for some cold ones or WHY i'd be greatly appreciative.
I will try out the foam blocks from the rental place, but roof bars are so much more secure.
Cheers, Kyle

yup.
They can rent me some foam blocks to rest on the roof, then i can ratchet strap it down.
Thats my main plan, just looking for a better alternative.
Cheers!

I was going to say Alberni Outpost as well, if they don't have roof racks then you have to go with foam blocks. I don't really know anyone else in the area except the kayak club on long lake.
However, the foam padding will work great, I have used it for sea kayaks a number of times as my roof bars were made with white water kayaks in mind. I have taken a number of kayaks out to MOMAR races in the past using only foam blocks, so it won't hurt to go that route. Just make certain that the blocks compress a bit so that they won't move around.

OK.
cheers. I guess the foam blocks will do then!
I need to hurry up and get a hitch put on.
Still as it is i'll have room for 2 bikes, a kayak and 4 people!
