Edmonston on CBC hyping radioactive Japanese imports

Hi all,

Just listened to Phil Edmonston of Lemon Aid Car Guides suggest that consumers should be afraid of the potential for radioactive vehicles imported from Japan after the March 2011 Fukushima prefecture meltdown. In my opinion this seems to be an overhyped reason for concern. I'm going to check my vehicle (1996 L400) imported in October 2011 with a geiger counter at work. Anyone else ever checked their vehicle.

The cynic in me sees this as either a publicity grab for Lemon Aid or a veiled auto industry pushback against imports in general.

Sounds like little more than the usual kind of FUD campaign with respect to these vehicles: "Ah, they're different, therefore they're..."

Radiation testing at the Ports in Japan is commen place now..

You think i a first World Country like Japan wants to be sending radioactive products oversea's..

That would be a Global Embarrassment.

Ignorance at it's best there. Dahunter said it right, Japan is not a dis organised place at all. It's the Canadian side who doesn't even check this stuff.
