new version of the Delica headlights.
Hey everyone , just wanted to let you know we now have the new version of the delica headlights, they look the very same on the out side, but have the small light built into the side of the housing for the daytime running lights so your DRL doesent wear out your normal lights, Oh and the headlight bulbs are guaranteed for 12 months, not like the older version that burns out in a week ..... $325 With 1 year warrantee for the bulbs, and instaled for Free in the victoria area.

Re: new version of the Delica headlights.
When I removed mine to seal the seam under the quarter panel, I noticed they had an extra light socket in the high beam pods that wasn't wired in, but it seemed like it could be a suitable DRL light.
Can you tell me what type or wattage that DRL bulb is?

hi, i dont think that will pass as daytime running light, its called city light in europe, it came from a depo Brand light, a small pilot bulb same as the side marker light, we have in turn signal, very small, not enough light, i always put brand new osram bulb Made in germany when i put headlight on delica. so you wont have any problem. it last longer

Re: new version of the Delica headlights.
Has Brian Kangas given the all clear for using 194 bulb lamps for daytime running lamps ?? I have recently been approved for BC inspections and as I am reading the manual it does not permit using "marker" lamps for DRL . It clearly states using low beam or reduced power high beam ??

Kinda funny, recalling the first gen Miata uses markers as DRL. So Miata is not street legal?

Re: new version of the Delica headlights.
If I understand correctly the early Miata used the turn/marker lamp unit as the DRL (1157 bulb) not a 194 marker bulb . There is a minimum recommendation for wattage and my understanding is that specifically the 194 bulb does not put out enough light to constitute a DRL lamp. 194 bulbs tend to be used as side marker bulbs , not front and rear . There is a higher power bulb available as a direct replacement for the 194 which is brighter (168) . Maybe this would be bright enough to enable it to pass as a DRL ??

Re: new version of the Delica headlights.
I put in these style of headlights and put in some bulbs I got from Canadian Tire and they passed here in Alberta. My problem is that they don't like the markings on the headlights. Can anyone point me towards a resource that will help me? The garage can clearly see the headlight pattern and agree they are okay, but because they don't have the correct little markings they are not allowed to pass them. Any assistance you can give would be appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: new version of the Delica headlights.
are you saying your headlights Don't have the E-13 or another E-number your inspector needs to phone who ever the area supervisor for inspections and confirm that the E-code is the equivilant of the dot.
What is your garage saying that they thing is missing?

Re: new version of the Delica headlights.
My headlights have the following markings.
HCR A
04 02
(an arrow that points right on the right headlight and an arrow that points left on the left headlight)
E4 (in a circle) 175
9746
My garage is saying that the E4 code doesn't work because European headlights can be both left and right hand. If my headlights had double headed arrows then they said they would be acceptable.
Thoughts?

Re: new version of the Delica headlights.
well e4 is a left hand drive light, so its legal, I think they are just being dificult for the sake of being dificult.
Re: new version of the Delica headlights.
Look at the back of the lens and remove the lowbeam bulb. You will see the deflector in there. It is a plate that almost half blocks the bulb from the bottom, very easy to see. One side of the plate will be slightly higher, I believe that the higher side is the "drive" side. So if it is high on the left, it is a LHD headlight.

Re: new version of the Delica headlights.
My garage can see that the lights have the correct beam pattern, it is just that they don't have one of the acceptable codes. So what does the government want? Proper markings or proper headlights? I would appear markings are more important than headlights.

Re: new version of the Delica headlights.
Im sort of lost here, you have E coded headlights from a country that is left hand drive. Ecode is what is accepted here as long as its from a country or FOR a country that is left hand drive. SO what exactly is your inspector saying he needs, perhaps its time to go to a different inspection facility.....?
