Any reason you couldn't just go to NAPA and get an oil filter?

I'm a l300 owner and I use NAPA 1067 or WIX 51067

I assume the l400 uses the same? That said, I would probably wait for an l400 owner to verify.

For my own curiosity, is it much better using import oil filters? I've always been satisfied with the NAPA (or WIX for that matter) but I know little of the nuances of oil filters.

Good luck on your oil change.

Hey go to a nearby acklands or lordco or gregg distibutors (any industrial supply place) and pick up a donaldson filter #P557382. It is the one you want for the L400, and about the same price as most vendors. Better filters in my opinion. I think the L300 and L400 are different filters (shorter for L300- you want the long one for L400). When you click on product applications on the smaller P502008 it lists the 4m40 mitsu as one. I don't know what the real difference is. Point is any of these will work and can be picked up closer to your home. I have one of the big sure filters left from Mardy and it lists the cross refference numbers as - Baldwin B7121 and FleetGuard LF 3871. Here are some threads with useful part numbers:

https://dynamic.donaldson.com/webc/WebS ... item=12419
http://catalog.baldwinfilter.com/ type in B7121 and you will see it.

Here is a warning label/disclaimer from Mardy about the difference in filters.

EDIT: I have been informed that it may infact be the P502008. The L300 requires a different number. Still researching...

You got me curious about donaldson filters, they get very good reviews. Can somebody confirm the l300 p/n? This is what I think it is: P551343

Thanks.

I am trying to sort it out on another thread instead of hijacking yours. Now I am not so sure. I think it is the P502008.
