Brake line and sway bar problems

Two problems:

One I have had for quite awhile-- I just can't seem to tighten up the bolt on the sway bar link enough so that the end of the bar sits properly between the bushings. The angle seems too extreme, and has been since I did a lift on my van a few years ago. I figure this is the source of a clunking sound that I have had for quite awhile when the weight shifts from side to side around corners. I think it is the bar slipping up and down on the bolt.

The second problem is a new one as of today- I very leaky front, driver's side brake line. It is leaking where the rubber hose enters the metal coupling at the crimp at the top of the hose. I figure I need a replacement hose, and have been trying to look up a part # on my own- but without a diagram, I can't figure out which of the myriad of options this part might be.

My problems are compounded by the fact that tomorrow is a holiday, and we are supposed to be leaving on a 3 week road trip first thing on Tue morn.

Any advice please?

You could used washers to shim up the lower bushing. As for The brake line stop driving your delica. Lordco,Napa should bed able to cross over the part number for a montero.

Pretty sure those are Lordco numbers.

joe's got the numbers for the lines

for the bushings, they are thin to begin with. The alternative (which I've done) is to put in a taller/fatter bushing on the bottom as that is where the largest gap is. From what it looks like you should be able to tighten down that nut a lot more. The bolt/nut look in poor shape. Measure the length, add on one inch and take that measurement and pickup a pair for grade 8 bolts with national fine thread and two stover nuts to match. This will make reinstallation much easier.

Judging from the angle of your sway bar to the mount and the difference I have to ask an obvious question..... Has your sway bar ever been fully removed? And possibly installed the wrong way (upside down)? I doubt it and I don't know Delicas but I had to ask. And yes I second that. There should be retaining washers.

Also if you or anyone ever needs brake hoses.... Take your old one into Greenline on Venables between Clark Dr. And Commercial. They can make it while you wait. If you want to spend the dosh you can get it in braided stainless too. Though that does look cool its $$$$.

$35 ish. That is braided stainless with red cover. Red to remind me how pissed off I got at it when trying to remove it (practically welded on) So double what a basic rubber one at Lordco will cost but it is stainless and looks purdee.... gets expensive if you are replacing them all. So far I have done the flexible ones on the rear (both calipers and the axle link seen above). The front remains stock rubber till something goes.

Not bad considering I've got quotes from our "local" suppliers for OEM brake lines for $40 each or A/M ones for $30 each.

Really? Depends on the length. The caliper ones were $80 something for the pair. But they were longer and had a strange thread male end on it.

So custom braided stainless vs oem rubber for the same price. I know which way I'd go.

That does not look correct!Is it possible the nut has bottomed out...You might need a shorter bolt or a bolt with longer threads.
Actually come to think of it your lift Mod probably caused it... Can you shim out the upper attatch point to drop sway bar down a wee bit?

I think that is what caused it. Tightening it doesn't seem to help, but I will be trying some/all of the suggestions in this thread.
