Vancouver Off-roading

Post by mycale »

Since I really don't know my way around the Mainland, i figured i'd ask here for some guidance. If you are in Vancouver and you want to go off-roading for just the day, where is a good spot to go? I am just looking for something fun to do while i visit with my friend from Korea. I know out here on the island I would have to travel about an hour before I can find spots without gates, I imagine from Vancouver you would have to travel much further...

I'm not sure of any trails nearby but there's a playground type of spot under the Second Narrows bridge on the North Vancouver side (which I like because you can take a picture of your van on the beach with the bridge in the background). There's also apparently another spot like this Behind the Silver City in Richmond.

Take a drive east on the #7 20 mns past Mission, turn left at the Sasquatch inn(follow signs indicating. Hemlock valley ski resort) the road will turn to gravel, and brings you past lots of camp grounds, lakes and some beautiful spots overlooking Harrison Lake.
