Turbo Rebuild Kit Wanted
Anyone know where to get a turbo rebuild kit for it locally? Going to install my pyrometer and want to put it in the manifold pre-turbo so I am going to have to take it out anyways, I might as well fix the leak.

not sure about the rebuild kit but what kind of leak do you have? I seem to have an oil leak from my turbo gaskets or something like that, wondering how to fix it or where to take it to be fixed.

Where and what kind of pyrometer did you get Eric?
Seriously interest in getting pyrometers installed, mind taking some pictures of your install?
My turbo's nice n' oily, but doesn't that help keep the rust away
Though it my be destroying my engine mount, don't know if changing those mounts are within the scope of the backyard mechanic.

Coaxial- THere is a turbo rebuilder in town that would probably be able to do it. When I do my pyrometer install I will try and find out what model the turbo is and see about sourcing the parts. I am not sure where the leak is exactly, I just see the turbo is wet and I know there is oil inside it so figured a seal kit isnt a bad idea.
BCDelica- I went with this one http://www.speedhut.com/el_detail_gauge ... 470&bhcp=1 It is a bit pricey but I liked the LED warning light. I will post a how-to on the install but be forewarned, I dont piss around with a half-assed install and it only took me 5 minutes (with my back in pain) to feed the pressure tube for my boost gauge (although I removed the altimeter and inclinometer and used that big hole) so you may hate me when I say it is easy. I plan on pulling the seat, removing the plate and the turbo, drilling and tapping threads into the manifold and installing the sensor that way. I will show an optional (post turbo) mounting place I think would work for a quicker install. It does come with a weld on fitting so you could weld it into the exhaust pipe and then attach the sensor there.
As for the motor mount, it is basically a no brainer. Support the motor with a jack and stands, remove the lower cross member tube, swap mounts, re-assemble.

If your still looking for a rebuild kit or to have it done for you. take down all the numbers or better yet a jpeg of the plate on your turbo, I would use mine, but mine is not the same. I can get you either a rebuild kit or have it built to original spec or beefed up .

It's a temperature probe that measures the actual combustion gas as it exists the engine (or after it exists the turbo depending on where you put it) so that you'll know to back off the throttle before you overheat your engine and crack the head.

Kinetic Motorsports just north on 200 of Langley can do a full service or supply the larger aftermarket turbo for you. They can do the pyro install on the mani as well.

Hey thanks for the offer but I already put the effort in and got the numbers and sourced a kit for it. I thought of going to the TD05 turbo but in all honesty, I cant justify it without any real internal changes to the motor. The turbo spools up nice and quick, goes to 15 psi boost no problem and as far as I am concerned, reliability-power-driveablity is reasonable with the stock unit and a little pressure upgrade.jymz wrote:Kinetic Motorsports just north on 200 of Langley can do a full service or supply the larger aftermarket turbo for you. If my current turbo was destroyed then maybe, but the rebuild kit is only $135 so I might as well just do that.

If the kit is 135 kinetic should be cheaper. They rebuild thousands of turbos a year. If I remeber my turbo world from cars correctly a td05 is a small turbo used in pairs to run a toyota 1jze on an aftermarket HKS setup. Given that at 15psi they might move 10-20% more air than the stocker. The housing isnt much different in size.
Taking into account what you said versus how much power will you gain. You're right, not worth the trouble. I would get an intercooler way before a turbo. My setup has a zeal exhaust and the pressure up to 14 and a power rod on the injector box. I can out hustle many cars down the road, and I wouldn't call my Delica "slow" in the least.
New intercooler will reduce the temp and the intake, improve the efficiency about 1psi and allow faster spoolup while looking cool.

Turns out the place I am buying from is the partner/supplier for Kinetic (same building). Here is their contact info, and they sell to the general public. You just need the #'s on your turbo (ex: TD04XXXXX and 49XXXXXXXX were on mine.
