Hello from Quesnel!

Hello everyone! It's been a while. We are finally moving into a farm by the end of this month. Meanwhile we are selling hot food: dim sum, BBQ and roasted pork and other goodies at the Quesnel Farmer's Market every Saturaday till October. We are also planning to convert a food truck in the future (any idea?). But we are using a trailer for now. Yes, we will have a guest house as well as plenty of space to camp. Delica.ca members are more than welcome to visit. I will let you know in the near future.

@Falco, diesel is not cheap up here neither. Once I have my farm status, I can run purple gas/diesel. But I will stick with Husky's Diesel Max with my vans.

@LunaSea, I use pork belly for my roasted pork with a layer of crispy skin. Normally, I make about 6 lbs of roast for the market and sold out by 11:30.

I also have a historical cabin on my property. I am planning to restore it in the future.

I will try to get my place semi ready by August, but guys should think of coming up for a weekend to chill out.

No, no... what I mean is Diesel is no longer a $1.50, it's considerably cheaper (even if it is still over a dollar). Like... it's cheaper to travel than last month, &c..

Very nice looking farm. You may have to add lamb to the menu.(sheep are my preferred method of grass control) As for a food truck, I used a '98 Chev P30. (old puralator truck) It has a low floor which is important if you want to sell from the truck. The aluminum body is also nice, no rust. But grossly under powered with a 4.3l V6, but still does the job. (the rear truck is the same model, but from the 70's)

Thanks for the inputs, Jason. Those step vans looks great! I was originally thinking of something a little more unique (like a Canter), but those step vans are very logical choices. Once settle down, I will start look at those step vans on the used market.
Funny that you mentioned sheep. That's in our start up plan as well. Lamb prices are much higher than beef per pound. The main problem here in the north Cariboo is wolf. Fortunately, there shouldn't be any wolf in our new farm location (but there are bears and cougars). So just in case, we are also palnning to breed predator control dogs like Anatolian sheepdogs. We do have an Irish wolfhound for now. We will get more dogs as soon as we move in.
I know a few lamb recipes. I made pesto crusted rack lamb last Christmas.
