IPA is OTC rubbing alcohol
I've been using 2 stroke oil in every tank diesel or veg. Vast improvement on diesel. Can't tell on veg. Not enough 100% wvo miles logged. Will know in August.

I have been playing with diesel kleen and ATF(cause its free) I run a 50/50 mix and put one cupish per tank. So far smooth starts, egts indicate an increase in BTU. Will continue with this thru the winter and see how she runs.

I thought the 2-stroke was only supposed to be used in the winter months, when the diesel changes to the winter "blend"?jfarsang wrote:

Used more for lubrication of the injection system, added benefit is increased BTU

Re: Big ol' post on keeping your diesel running cleanly...
I just had my first oil change since I got the van. A bit late but got it done. The oil seemed thin and the filter came off only with a C clamp. I did not add anything to the crankcase and now I kinda wish I did. I'd like to clean the inside of the engine without any damage. Should I go for cold engine Seafom, IPA, (which I don't know where to find or how to ask about it) or Liqui Moly?
Also, I'm using Stanadyne on every tank. Just squirt a generous amount in the tank before fill ups. I just downloaded the .pdf from here http://www.delica.ca/forum/big-ol-post- ... 12355.html and am planning to research the lubrication aspect of it.
Does anybody add any additive to WVO or SVO?
Thanks.
Cheers,
Glenn Delwood

I used Stanadyne for a while, but I didn't notice any benefit from that product. I have used 2 stroke in the past too. But I switched over Petrolabs a while ago and I have noticed a bit of an improvement wit start up and idling. Mind you, my van has always run really (knock on wood). But I do like the Petrolabs. A guy I worked with swore by Stanadyne for his big F two-fitty, fwiw.

Any recent comments on how well this is working?
I would like to do something like what is discussed in the thread.

I've been price checking IPA locally in Vancouver, and the price has gone up to $28+ for a jug. Going to try this experiment soon!

I used this for several fill ups and couldn't specifically notice much of a difference. I'm sure it works, and I will do this instead of seafoam, but my van still hesitates under throttlestever1000 wrote:I've been price checking IPA locally in Vancouver, and the price has gone up to $28+ for a jug.
