what is this? (newb question)

Hi guys, new poster here, currently getting ready to purchase my first Delica.

I had a quick (probably dumb) question, and I haven't been able to find the answer so I figured I'd ask you guys.

On some Delica's there is a metal post on the passenger side front bumper. What the hell is that? I THINK it might be used to hold a mirror, but I've seen them without mirrors and what looks like a light at the top?

It's called a parking pole. It indicates where the front left corner of the vehicle is, so you don't bump into things when parking.

Some people like them, some despise them. Personal preference more than anything.
