I'm thinking my IP main seal may be on its way out, hard starts after sitting for 20hrs or more and ALOT of white smoke while turning over and can take close to a min of cranking to start, then runs fine.
Here is my problem im I live in prince george and was wondering what equipment the 4M40 was used in as to find a shop that knows these diesels. Or is this a job that any good diesel shop can do no problem??
Thanks
Joe

4M40 was a generator engine - try a shop that maintains diesel generators.
ADDITION: according to my inside source, it was Caterpillar that used these Mitsu engines in their small generator line.

Hey Pajero,
I had exactly the job you're talking about done locally. Take it to Prince George Fuel Injection Ltd, they're over on Opie Crescent.

Lee is the guy you want to talk to, and tell him Kelly referred you. Its a very commonly-used IP with readily available rebuild kits. Hope that helps!

Good to hear that... I was going to suggest the injectors being cleaned/replaced.
What size (mm) are those fuel lines? I'd like to do the same to mine.
