L400 SWB 4x8 plywood?

Mitsubishi Delica L400 production commenced in 1994 -- After much anticipation, the L400 arrived on Canadian Soil in 2009!

L400 SWB 4x8 plywood?

Post by mapleridge818 »

I'm looking at buying a L400, but every now and then I need to buy plywood/drywall etc. I know a 4x8 sheet will fit in the L300 and the LWB L400, but will it fit in a SWB L400?
Thanks

I don't know for certain, but I do know with my LWB l400 I can't have the front seats reclined where I like them, but I'm 6'6". It might work with the seats all the way up?

I too would like to know. From my searching, it looks like it will fit in, but the tailgate won't close. It will fit in a LWB.

You cannot fit a 4x8 sheet in with the tailgate closed in a L400 SWB, I just had a couple of sheets in this week.

Thank you for that. So, a hitch for my utility trailer will be a top priority when I get my new van. I guess this is the consequence of sticking the engine out in front, rather than sitting on it. Safety vs efficiency. Crumple zone vs crumpled legs.

Why not find a LWB - lots of upside - not much downside.

I'm going from a short box, regular cab, 2wd Nissan pickup. The SWB is going to be like driving a bus to me as is. If I can avoid another foot of van, I will. The SWB is overkill for what I need 99% of the time. I'll just have to deal with having the hatch up once in a while if I pick something longer up I guess.
Thanks for the info sfd_656!

$x8 plywood fits but it bumps into the headliner and runs between the front seats making navigating troublesome, I've had mine for a year and I love it but I just put a down payment on a LWB L400 to make hauling easier. I had an L300 and 4x8's fit in it no problem at at all but it just didn't have enough power for me.
