I want to install this floor protector, however I don't require the whole roll and would like to see if anyone would like to do a two way split. It's available at Costco for $179 for 7.5' x 17'.

I saw that at Costco and debated the same as I have a single space rather than a two car garage. Still... not in the budget just yet, 'though the offer is tempting.

I'm sorry I should have been more clear ...
I'm going to install it in the back of my L400 (replace the carpeting).

Well great, you can put half of it inside your wagon and the other half on the garage floor where you park... grins. Hope you find someone, Paul, it's a pretty good deal you are offering.

I bought this years ago and installed it in my Delica at the time. Great flooring option. You should have enough to do 3 vans... Check my old post if you want to see how it looks installed... When you go ahead try to to cut it a good 4" oversized so you can have the floor "climb up" against the walls to avoid water getting underneath!

That Costco stuff is nice, fer sure.

There are a couple of other slightly less permanent options for less dough:

- The space in the back between the wheel well humps is exactly 3 feet in my L400. Surplus Sam's just off SE Marine Drive has 2'X3' heavy duty outdoor mats for $10 ea. A pair of them lock together in the back perfectly from the rear hatch trim to just behind the mounting point for the middle seats. Covers everything except the little spaces in the very back corners.

- For around $27 at Midland Liquidators and Tools on Kingsway, they sell a big ol' roll of Construction Film. Tough stuff; it is essentially a 2-3 foot wide roll of 6 mil plastic with a slightly adhesive back layer. Think big roll of sticky painter's drop sheeting.

Next time I go somewhere muddy for camping, I'm going to spend 5 minutes beforehand and put down a layer of that over my clean carpeting. Then I can get the inside as muddy as I like and when I get home, just peel it out and straight in the trash/recycle bin. The professional cleaning crews use this stuff in the BC Ferries all the time to protect the already-cleaned carpet sections from heavy foot traffic while the ship is in the dock for refit.

If you are looking for a mat to just cover the rear baggage area, there are BBQ mats made of similar material at Costco for $15. I think they are 3x5. If you don't mind some overlap, you can pick up 2 or 3 for a whole lot less than a roll of the garage flooring.
