Hello good people,
my search on this forum has failed me...perhaps I am not savvy
however, can anyone enlighten me?
Our deli L300 four wheel drive will not engage: no light, no clunk...and four wheel. Nothing...?
Is there a troubleshoot I can aim for, some oddity - like a series of seemingly random shifts, revs, whatever...that will remind my van how awesome it is?
Thanks for your consideration!

Check the linkage to see if it is hooked up, put it on jack stands and see if the drive shaft and cv joints spin. If they do then go after the hubs. Oh does it have auto or manual hubs

I had the same problem and it turned out being the wiring harness by the transfer case. Good luck.

thanks, will check today...
auto hubs
noob: linkage means wiring harness??? I thought the 4 wheel drive shifted engages the van mechanically, and the light was wiring...?

Where are you located? Might be easier to ask an experienced delica owner to stop by, see if it just a simple thing. Good Luck Christine.

No delica techs on this rock, i may be one of the most qualified if that quantifies...
Well, i finally found wires amuck and reconnected them (from transfer case zone)...but no green light. 4 wheel drive works fine.
So, no indicator light...hmmm...would this be related to the neutral safety stich not working?
Yeah, what i would give to drive into a knowledgeable repair shop!

Re: four wheel drive not working L300
Usual reason the lights don't work (but the wheel lock and 4wd DO actually work) is 2 skinny little wires just aft or atop or alongside the transfer case, they have little white connector tabs. Just look for the worst possible place to position the wires, ie dangling where the bushes can rip them off when offraoading, and there they are...the connector gets salty from road salt also. I have not heard of the neutral safety switch interferance with them. Christine.

Re: four wheel drive not working L300
There is a surfer who drives a white L300 and lives up in the Naikoon area. It's a pretty distinctive rig as it was rolled off a logging road so one side is completely dented up, but still runs fine! He does his own maintenance, and maybe you can track him down if he's still there. This was back in October 2011 when I was working up there.
