What engine are you referring to? Are you talking about the idle? Have you looked at the shop manual in the L400 Dedicated Category Forum?

4m40 yah I have a exploded diagram but it does not explain or state what is what I have no fast idle and am looking for adjustment I have adjusted the 8m one and also have been told the 10m one is the fast idle... So needles to say I'm confused and would like to know what is what... If neither adjustment works it look like its the wax thermostat in the pump

I mean this page: http://www.delica.ca/forum/the-1995-l40 ... -9266.html

I would think that your answers could be found in there.

Hey, I kind of think this thread has the simplest instructions. I meant to try but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Adjustment screw clarity

Yah I have read that thread before but have been told that the other one is the cold start.... Even if its not I would love to know what it adjusts? Any ideas? It seems to be linked to the throttle and high idle too

Section 11 is the engine, 4M40 being 11M, 11I is for the 4D5 Astron engines. Both of these are there (along with 11D, the 4G6 motor). I believe they both use the same injection pumps, not 100% on that.

I was glancing at 13F (Fuel Supply & Engine Control). It refers to accelerator cable inspection and adjustment. Could this help?

Cregan's link is the one, especially page two with the link to Tttony's post on the UK delica site. It's all there.

Adjustment screw clarity

Post by 403delica »

Well I have adjusted all screws and have no result... Still no fast idle. Vehicle starts fine, runs amazing well the glow plugs are on. Once they kick out its all down hill from there unless I use my foot to keep idle high

Any other ideas my fellow delica lovers?

I agree, I've had no luck adjusting the "cold" idle, I have only been able to increase the "hot" idle. In an act of desperation I cracked the fuel filter bleeder and pumped and pumped and left it with a POSITIVE charge. It has run 90 percent better ever since.
FYI, my l400 was having the worst starting issues since 2009, 70,000km ago...
