Hi guys,
So I have been driving my Van quite a bit too and from work and have been noticing a whine that starts as soon as the van is moving and increases in volume and speed as I speed up, very consistant. Plus I am getting a shake, rattle that increases with speed coming from Left side. I have been doing some research and thinking it could be wheel bearings or auto locking hubs. I am going to repack my wheel bearings the first warmish day that happens (living in Banff in the mountains) and was looking at replacing my auto locking hubs with manual lockers. I like the look and feel they are more durable from my previous 4wd. Any suggestions on where I can get some manual lockers? I have been looking online for about an hour with no real leads. Also does anyone have a manual or step by step on Delica wheel bearing removal and repack? Also have been looking online but nothing really detailed. Have done it on my pathfinder before but want to make sure i'm not going to screw anything up. You guys are the best.
Marc

Thanks for that! Not a bad price for them either. I might pick up a set. Have you used them much for any off road or snow driving? They seem to be strong?

Re: Whining noise and shake
Marc,
That whine would only happen to me on really cold days. I would just pull over, put it in reverse and back up a few meters with the wheel straight to 'reset/unlock' the hubs. Seems like the intense cold for some reason would partially engage one of them. Not sure about the shake...
