Alignment in Victoria?

Post by Rattlenbang »

Slowly, bit by bit I'm getting this rig up to snuff. One thing I really want done is to get the alignment set right; this thing still thinks it's in Tokyo and I'm tired of holding it out of the ditch. I did a search but couldn't find a suggestion for wheel alignment shop familiar with the L300 in Victoria. I know there are a couple of places up island but would prefer someplace closer if possible. Suggestions?

All these rigs in town and nobody has had them tweaked here?

Anyone can do the alignment, it's not a difficult procedure. CVI has it dialed in now with a few adjustments made to adjust for driving on the other side of the road (due to how the road is curved). Previous to my last visit they didn't have it quite right but now it stays perfectly straight.

Thanks for the reply, I thought most shops wouldn't touch them. But I just called Big-O tire on Quadra, and the owner's wife has a Pajero, so he knows all about JDM vehicles. He said no problem with the alignment and they've done them there before. I'll be glad to get that pull taken care of, my forearm is starting to look like Popeye's keeping her on the road. :-D

That's good to hear. If they are able to do an old fashioned alignment (alligning the front wheels to match the rear) you will see better results than using the specs that are often given out.

Big-O had no problem tweaking her up and it's a relief not having the bad pull. Hard to believe someone drove it like that for 7 years! The wear on the tires must have been really high, as even these ones which are relatively new show a lot of wear at the outer edges.
