Floor mats

Post by philmeup1 »

Hey there,

I have a '93 Delica Super Exceed L300. Does anyone know if rubber mats were ever an option for these vehicles?? The drivers mat in my van is completely soaked and filthy dirty. Not to mention worn right out. It would be nice and practical if there was a rubber mat option. Especially in the winter months....

Just wondering:)

X2 I would really like a rubber rug for the front of the L300...rugs suck in a 4x4 and due to the engine location want some noise protection...

I just go to Canadian Tire and buy plastic/rubber back seat mats, then cut them out to wrap around the steering column. It's as though they were made for the L300 style wagon. My passenger side is rubber and the driver's side is a harder plastic as it sees far more punishment.

You looking to get the grey rubber garage flooring from Costco and just do all the floor in one piece?

I did this: http://www.delica.ca/forum/floating-lin ... -2517.html shortly after I got the bus and am still happy with it. It's been a while - lots of wet shovels, rakes, plants and heaps of other stuff in the course of my work as a gardener. Lots of wet mt. bikes, caving gear, skis and camping kit in and out of there too. After nearly 5 years it's still wearing well. I cut some of the exess out and fit in in the foot wells, though I didn't spent much time up there, releying for the most part on my CND rubber mats.

I bought a replacement carpet for mine, but I'm seriously considering using some vinyl decking. Use the old carpet as a template, cut the vinyl, use a heat gun to help mold it around the humps, and then a little contact cement here and there to hold it into the recesses. Then throw down heavy rubber floor mats for the boot heels. You would be able to hose the muck right out.

Man, a genuine set would be nice. If in fact they do exist... Looks like its down to some crafty fabricating. Won't be as good though :-(

I went to Beatty Floors, they had some 3'x3' rubber mats they were all too happy to unload. Then I took out the carpet, traced the layout onto the rubber mats and presto, rubber floors in the front that fit exactly as the carpet did.
