I've done some searching on the site and can't find anything but...
Has anyone made wood armrests for their L300?
Mine are looking shabby so I am thinking of making some out of laminated ply or something similar. The benefit being I can include the ever-elusive cup holder right into the arm on either or both sides.
Any input is greatly appreciated.

See this old posting:

Andy "ModSquad" had a carpenter in Mexico make beautiful glossy hardwood ones, with space for the interior doorlight (if your model has the light, my 1991 has the light, my 1997 no light). They look beautiful in the photos.
Hmmmm. take the one day wood carving course at Lee Valley??? I would take a bit of nicely kiln dried wood so it can't warp.
Sheeply Greetings, Christine.

Re: Doorside Armrest Mod???
Started a few days ago with the old (passenger side) one off in order to make a template.
Got a stick of wood - my skills aren't the best so I opted for pine. A good shellacking should keep it pretty!
Cut out the rough shape and spent most of today between a belt sander, table saw and hand sander.
I'm quite happy with it. Not perfect, but it will do the trick. Just need to give it the finish and screw it completely back into place. Then make the other side.
Best part is it fit with very little swearing and adjustments.

Re: Doorside Armrest Mod???
The armrests are complete.
The first one went together with nary a hitch. The other side? Well let's just say I rushed it a little and after buggering up two blanks I got the third one right (almost) - A tad long but the table saw took care of it.
Best thing is when you open the door the lights come on!!!
