What did you do TO your Delica today?

I got to changing my heater control bulbs the other day. That's after I ordered the RIGHT bulbs from Hong Kong. Nice to have the dash back together after bring apart for a few weeks. Not to fun getting those push pull cables back on.

This has been done for a while, but thought I would post anyway. I installed the PCV bypass filter and new Snorkel. The filter is a canister style fuel filter from Princess Auto. It has 1" inlet/outlet, and a replaceable filter that has a louvered metal inside that works perfect as a baffle once the paper is removed. I used 5/8 heater hose with 1"-5/8 adapets at the housing. I simply used a modified wet-vac filter to wrap the baffle for added surface area to condense the oil vapor. Great deal for 40.00. The canister is clear so you can see when it needs to be drained, but also has a pep-cock for easier drainage. If I were really motivated, I would simply run a 3/8 hose directly from the canister bottom to the oil pan so I'd never have to worry about draining it like Volvo/Mercedes do.
The canister nestles nicely beside the air box. I left enough slack on the hoses to tuck it out of the way if I need access to anything.
I also ran a new 3" corrugated hose for my snorkel at the same time.(as seen in the photo)
I was told it couldn't be done, but it worked great - it hardly distorted the hose at all, and I got away with no mods to the air canister but all the benefits of better air flow. Unless the outlet is modified to the canister there is no benefit to a larger inlet and the snorkel scoop provides the added air volume to pressurize to the box.
The hose is continuous from Snorkel head to canister. I know it looks a little "utilitarian" for some, but it does work great and was a very simple install. I originally mounted the hose up against the body but had some wind howl, a fellow experienced off road guy said to space it out to allow the wind not to "pocket" which worked well and solved the problem. Lucky for me that the Delica is not aerodynamic and creates a large low pressure area at speed:) If I intended to seriously offroad in the overgrowth I would reel it in a bit. The hose it pretty tough (metal reinforced PVC) so it can take a few hits if need be..
I bought the Snorkel head/ hose on Ebay together from the same supplier for 40.00 plus 20.00 shipping. It came Fedex to Canada in 4 days from Malaysia.

I decided I should do my normal spring stuff to my delica which is for sale. Can't help myself lol. Every spring I like to touch up the wheel wells and stuff that our gravel roads seem to like knocking off. A nice stiff wire brushing and some flat black to make it look sexy.

well, I spent tues-wed-thurs trying to replace the old balljoints, shocks, brakes, oil change and egr blockoff, and only managed to change driver's upper balljoint and shock, and install the egr and oil change, now she's in the shop to do the rest of the work I couldnt complete

Sound like my attempt at my pitman and idler arm. Sometimes its worth it to just throw money at it and get er done. Good push though. Those ball joints can be on there.

I got off my butt and replaced the 55w driving lights with my 18w LEDs
Should lower the amperage usage. Now I need to find where they hide the relay for them. I hate how they turn off when the brights come on.

Replaced my dash speakers with a set of Pioneer TS-G1044R speakers that finally went on sale at crappy Tire. Sounds awesome compared to the turds that were in there.

After almost a year and a half I finally had changed my pipe and put in a 2.5" mangaflow (18" as that's all they had). Holy what a difference!!! I did it on thursday right before leaving for San Diego Via las vegas (actually sitting right outside of LA right now in a small town). Fuel milage definitely improved by about 40-70 km extra per tank. Car is running smoother. RPMs are down by about 200-300 at 120km/h. Temp is lower then usually. Even running it in the mojave desert today was too easy.
Do this mod BEFORE anything ELSE!!! I should have, now kicking myself in the a$$.

Muffler man charged me $200 for work and parts. Muffler was $80 (with discount) from lordco.

Its a sad day. I listed Blueberry on Delica Trader.
School is just too expensive and I work 5 blocks from home. I never drive!
Going to leave it there before I put it out to the world at large.

Got my goodies from TigWeld4u goodies in the mail. I got them installed along with an oil change. I also cleaned up the battery terminals while it was out and gave the bus bar a good buff with emory cloth. I also found my front end clunk. Loose/bad sway bar linkage and cracked sway bar bushings.
