Need oil pan for Pajero 4M40
Hi Guys,
Just swapping in a L400 4M40 block into my Pajero. Swapping over the accessories I ran into a couple of problems. One I will solve by drilling a hole in the block (for the dipstick). The second is the oil pan. They are different. Mine is hooped. Does someone have an oil pan kicking around for a Pajero 2.8 4M40? Need it ASAP.
Thanks,
Gerry

Where abouts are you? I can probably source one for you from my parts supplier, they have a couple pajero's for parts, and have changed a few of the 2.8L's, but if you are closer to BC than I am, it may be just as easy for you to contact them and check. I only have the l400, l300, and 2.5lpajero pans kicking around here.

Hi jason,
I'm in Calgary. I called Rising sun and they do not have one. Have a call in to CCAuto to see. Just waiting to hear back. If you have another suggestion I would love to hear.
Thanks,
Gerry

We do have a 4M40 engine, which is still in good running condition pajero2800cc.geaddict wrote:Hi jason,

We do not sell oil pan assy separately even if we part out later.
Try CC autos as my staff suggested on the phone.
If not successful, you may get a new assy from Mitsubishi Japan.
Good luck,
Steven

Will the oil pan from your old 2.8 not fit onto the new 2.8? I haven't swapped an engine from an l400 into a pajero, so I'm curious as to why you can't just use the old one. And sorry, I don't have any other suggestions for suppliers.

My original is hooped. Big hole in it from the connecting rod. I need a replacement.

Sorry, when you said that in the original post, I thought it was a misprint and you meant humped. Getting it welded might be your quickest and most economical solution.

Based on the condition, it is not a good candidate for welding.

At this point I am sending emails to some UK wreckers to get one shipped in. Least expensive and quickest option to get a replacement
