Window Fix

Im sure Im not alone here.

If I am traveling down the hi-way, or even in town sometimes (depending on the direction and speed of the wind) my two front side windows have a real struggle rolling up into the proper tracks. They are very loose fitting and I have had to open one to roll up the other, or pop open the sunroof to let enough pressure eqalize in the van, or any number of combinations including opening the door and other such madness... all so I can simply roll up the window.

I have looked through the site a few times hoping to bump into a thread about this, but havent seen one. Have any of you had this problem? What have you done? I have not taken apart the door to see how the tracking is engineered. Maybe its a matter of shiming or addjusting the tracks somehow.

Any advise would be nice!

Apparently there are clips that the Mitsubish dealer carries that forces the window to lift up straight. I don't know more details than that. If you do a search you might find more.

Bought new channel fuzzies from Steele rubber co, and 4 guide clips(two per front window) to solve the issues. The guide clips (if placed properly) will stop the issues rolling the windows up at speed;)

That sounds like the right idea bionic!! Do you remember what kind of fuzzy channel you purchased? I looked at the website and they didn't have any Mitsubishi models listed. How was the instal? Was it pretty easy to do? Also where did you find the guide clips? Haven't found any online yet, but still looking.

I got my window clips at the Mitsubishi dealer on 2nd avenue in Vancouver near yukon. The part number is MB421735 The are about $6 each. I only got one that they had in stock as they're orders were on on hold from Japan because of the Tsunami that hit two weeks previous. The one I got worked like a charm and I'm sure if you call around to the Mitsubishi dealerships and quote the part number above you'll find what you need............cheers, Alpo.

The channel fuzzies were generic and sold by the linear foot based on their dimensions. Sorry, I cant remember the part number now, but I used an imperial measurement. I think it was 3/4 wide by 1/2" depth. I ordered 8 feet to do both front windows. I did not need it all. Great stuff, I was hoping it would cure some of the wind noise but alas, it's still there

I was kind of hoping that it would help a bit of noise as well. But if I can just get the window to roll up fully without having to pull my rig over, or slow down to a crawl, well, it's a good trade off!! I'm away for work for a few days, but when I get home I'm going to order up some clips for sure and look into the new fuzzy rubber stuff as well.
