Whirlwind trip, Northern BC to San Fransisco...

Post by josh »

It was a bit of a whirlwind tour. We took 2 weeks and drove 6500kms from Smithers to San Fransisco (with a detour up to whistler) and then back. It was a hoot, we took the coat through Oregon and California. Played in the dunes, slept in a yurt, hiked in the redwoods, and saw everything San Fran had to offer. We even managed to sqeak in a ski in Whistler. It was a blast. Here's a few pics to enjoy.

Great Pics, thanks for posting Josh! So did you make the transition from a high roof to a low roof just fine? :-D

Do you think it's safe to say Dusty wouldn't have fit through the tree! No name for the new van yet?

Best Regards,
Kev

looks like an amazing trip... though I think I'll refrain from trying to take my delica through that tree.... it looks awful tight!

I must confess, the Delica didn't make it all the way through... the way they cut the tree it had less clearance at the one end... i was almost all the way through but gave up at a 1/4 inch clearance.

Yes I did put on the 31's... it helps dramatically with my fuel mileage on the manual (on the auto it made the fuel mileage drop). Actually I probably would have made it under that tree if I didn't have the 31's on!

Kev,

I love the lowroof... and you are correct, no name for the new van. The reason is that I cannot risk getting attached to it. I have a new one comming in the spring and this one will be up for sale. The reason for the quick turn around on rides is that Rose doesn't drive standard. So the new one will be an auto.

how much did the 31s set you back? Im on 27s but im dieing for some bigger tires, got to sell these babies first i geuss to afford new once.that tree is sick, other day i got stuck in the tincel town under ground parking lot, looked alittle like that tree situation except like 4 parking attendants yelling at me ended up takin the paint off the roof a bit...could have been worse

The tires will set you back way to much... lol... dont even go there. (But they are super cool, and handle the mud incredibly...) Stay tune for my roof tent, roof rack, and lift kit... all being installed on the upcomming delica before summer. (and a snorkel and winch if i hit pay dirt, because i think i have already exhausted the money train).
