1990 L300 Exceed in white CLR

Post by alec »

Hi there,
I also posted to the Delica Trader site but not sure if it worked, so also trying here.

My beloved van has been well maintained by Butch at CVI and is currently there awaiting a new cylinder head.
I am trying to decide if I should sell it - and am gauging interest here. The price to fix it is approximately $3000.

The van has:
brand new Toyo AT tires ($1200)
new thermostat ($300)
new exhaust ($400)
new blower fan ($400)
new paint job on lower half (gravel guard and heavy paint)

Please contact me at alec.a.fernandes@gmail.com
I would be happy to get $3000 for the vehicle as is. You can see it at CVI or ask Butch for any information concerning it.

One more year and you can sell it in the US.

I faced the same decision a year ago - the repairs were nearly equal to the value in the van. I decided to fix mine, I figured the van owes me nothing, and for $2400 I would get another few years out of it.

yes a few other delica owners said they had their's fixed up and then sold it a few years later.
i've already had my van for a number of years and will soon be commuting to work - and hence a better vehicle for that mission.

sad to see her go for sure.

Well Butch talked me into keeping my van seeing that I've had so much done to it over the years.
The following is a list of completed work:
- engine head and gaskets
- turbo
- exhaust
- thermostat
- blower fan
- new AT tires (Toyo)
- camperized with bed and cupboards

SOOOOO....

It is still for sale but is not a major rush.
The price being offered is $7000.

Ever consider doing it yourself and saving $2,000.00? With all due respect to the brave men and women who carry wrenches out there, I've always wondered how a job that it takes two - three days for a none-pro like me to do, can add up to such a huge figure? Isn't the going shop rate around 100 an hour? Are they suggestion it takes a pro 20 hours?
